Garmin eTrex Euro Handheld GPS Receiver

As with most GPSs the compass only works while moving, unfortunately I didn't realize how annoying this is till I tried to use it :/

The signal isn't great but it works, on occasion it reports accuracy of 30' but then obviously isn't.

Bottom Line:
A good cheap GPS but if you're going to be relying on it for hikes etc. you'll probably want the "H" or better.

I recently purchased a Garmen Etrex GPS unit on EBAY for hunting and fishing.I really like the unit but i haven't had the time to esperiment with it as of yet. I have had a little trouble getting it to navagate for me but I will read the instructions again and I am sure it will live up to my eapectations.

I needed a handheld GPS for geocaching. I picked this one because of the brand it is (I'm a big fan of Garmin) and it was cheap and performed the functions I needed it to do. It is able to log the coordinates and gets me to my destination, which is all I need, I just don't like how it takes so long to find the satellites. I also don't like how it loses the signal so easily when I'm in a foresty area. But I guess I can't complain since I bought the cheapest one out there. I like how it fits in my hand.

Wanted to go GEO Caching bought it for my daughter. Didnt realize it did not come with directions! Have had it about one month still cant figure it out. Brought it to several stores and cant find anyone to operate it. Better look closer at my next purchase. GPS in great condition for being used though.

This garmin etrex is great item light wait and small easy to handle. It has been extremly handy in the woods and on runs

Good item, nice price and excellent item. I will buy another one to give to my wife. I live in Mexico and it works perfect.
