Garmin StreetPilot i3 Car GPS Receiver

This little device is awesome! I also have one of the big 7" screen unit and I find myself using the i3 more. The reason being is that it is so easy to use. As soon as you turn the key, the i3 comes to life and ask you only two question: "Where to" or "view maps". The "where to" is my favorite because you simply pre load all the places you want to go and store them in "my Favorites" so no matter where you are, you can go to the "my Favorites" and find the best way to go.(including home) The only thing I don't like (and the reason for keeping the big 7" gps) is that you must have an address in order to make a route. For example I like to ride off road trails in the forest and if I find a nice camp site I can "tag" that exact spot(which is nowhere near any road) with my other GPS. the I3 is nothing but a blank white screen in the forest, but I guess it could still help you find the nearest road. In the i3's defense, it is called "street pilot" meaning it was design for road navigation only. All in all, I don't think anyone would not be amazed at the massive amount of data this tiny little device can hold. all the restaurants, store, gas stations, bank, car repair, etc and with only a few rolls of that wheel in the middle, you can navigate to any of these points of interest. I would Highly recommend this GPS!!

works fantastic. The size of a baseball with the functionality of a 7 inch unit. Great colors and precision (WAAS EGNOS). Beats all Magellan Roadmates...buy it!

This unit provides everything someone would need in a GPS unit. It is compact yet is loaded with features and has a bright clear screen. It works flawlessly and even knows if you make a wrong turn and adjust accordingly. The voice instructions are clear and dead on. Since it is not the "latest" model the price is great too. Unless you're one of those people who just have to have the latest model number on the market, save the money and get this one. I think the main difference is that you must load the maps from your computer with this one and the newer models come preloaded. I'll load the maps to save $100.00 plus.

This is a great unit. It doesn't have the "bells & whistles", but I don't want bells and whistles, I want to be able to find where I'm going. For that, this unit is perfect. The volume is nice and loud. For the price, this unit can't be beat. I got more than 7 states worth of maps loaded onto the 128Mb Micro SD card that comes with the unit.

Although the wheel makes entering addresses somewhat cumbersome, it's still relatively easy to do and with 500 available storage locations, you can save any location that you will use more than once for future use.

I highly recommend this unit. You can't beat the value. There's just no need to spend more.

I LOVE this unit. Sure, it doesn't have a ton of buttons or a large screen, but for under $300, what can you expect? The menus are easy to use and the navigation is awesome. I found it very intuitive and for $50 I bought a 1 GIG memory card which I hope will allow me to add close to the entire USA so I don't have to worry about adding maps later. The 128M card allowed me to add OR, WA, CA, NV and FL. This seems good to me.

After renting a car in Germany with GPS, I realized this was one modern device that really makes a difference when you are in uncharted territories. I did some research and saw that the Garmin I3 was a good basic device and about the cheapest solution around. The ebay prices were a little lower than the great price I found at Costco, so I set up some snipes using Auction Sniper (check my about me page) and won one. When I tried to use it in my car, I had some initial trouble. I called Garmin tech support and they straightened my out (had to have the receiver pointing skyward) and it worked like a charm.

Works great! I like the fact that it can do everything the $1000+ units can, but much easier to transfer from car to car, hide in the glovebox,etc. Also very easy to get up and running- my 5 year old can easily use it! Screen is very high resolution- smaller size is NOT an issue! Also like verbal commands- when driving don't even have to look at it most of the time.

I bought this for a trip I was taking and was curious about the hype of these devices. The device was extremely accurate. It was small enough so that it did not interfear with my ability to see out the window. It takes a little bit getting use to the thumb wheel to program locations. The battery life is shorter then stated but use plug in charger when in vehical then you won't have any problems. I was glad that I bought this and would buy another one.

We gave it to our Grandson who is a Preacher and travels alot. He loves it and has had very good service with it since he received it. It seems really easy for him to follow the directions and learn how to use it. I am extremely pleased that we made the purchase.

This is a great little GPS for the money! I travel for business a few times a month and never bring a map. Fly into the airport, get the rental car and fire up this guy and I am off and running. Takes me to my destinations wvery time. You will be very happy with this product.

AWSOME PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE,WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND,ONLY ONE MINOR PROBLEM SCREEN IS A LITTLE SMALL TO READ WHEN DRIVING BUT OTHERWISE PERFECT.

I bought this to help my dad with his delivery route. It is great and locates houses within a few yards, even in mountanous land. It even gets reception in the hills and woods without an additional antenna. The only problem I have had with the item is that the included disk is a DVD not a CD. It took half an hour for me to figure that out, you need a DVD drive if you want to use the item. The item is well worth the money

I bought it because I was moving to a different state, I like it b/c it's very small and portable and can use it to find all sorts of things like nearby restaurants, malls, and recreational activities. I dislike it because the software isn't updated enough sometimes and it sends me to a location that doesn't exist. Other than that it's a great product. I never leave home w/o it!!

I just started a new sales job where I am driving all over Ohio. This system lets me know EXACTLY where I am going from "turn left in .2 miles" to "drive to destination on right" or "keep right on ramp", and I haven't been lost yet. I can't imagine how much time I have saved by not having to use Mapquest to get me from point A to point B. This was well worth the $275 I spent. Small enough to not be a nuisance when you're driving but big enough to be able to see. Adjustable volume is good too when you want to listen to the radio or take a phone call. Glad I bought this!

LOVE IT! Its all I need to find just about anything, lots of points of interest, ATMs, Gas Stations, Restaurants. Love the ease of use, perfect size, talking voice instructions (and visual) and works as well as my spouses expensive in-dash unit!

I own the more sophisticated c340, and I bought this unit for the wife's van for short trips. She absolutely loves it. It is pretty easy to use once you figure it out. Highly recommended.

I really love my Garmin GPS. After making my purchase, I traveled to Mall of America and even downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and never needed a street map or directions. It was wonderful and I would recommend a Garmin GPS to anyone planning on traveling.

I got the i3 for my upcoming trip to the outerbanks this summer, and so far I am very pleased. It is very accurate and it has not sent me in a wrong direction yet. I would recomend this product to people who are just getting into gps like me who just want something to get them to places quickly and efficently. It also has features to search for food,lodging,and attractions near where you are which is ery nice.

There is a negative side though. Although it is small and easy to take to differnt places, the screen is very small. So if you are a little older or don't have good eye sight, I would recomend getting a model with a larger screen. I'm twenty years old with 20/20 and sometimes I find my self straining when the sun blinds you in spots.

Bought this for a Christmas present for my dad, and he LOVED it. Was amazed at all the features found in such a small gadget!

Purchased Street Pilot as Christmas gift for my Husband. I am horrible at reading a map and this was to prevent a divorce from taking place the next time we went on a trip. The cost was excellent. Screen is a little small, but is readable. I had to download extra software, as the disk sent needed to be updated. Be forewarned that my download time was over 5 hours. (I am on dial up internet service) We have not used it on a road trip yet. We have programmed addresses in and seems to be just what we needed.
