Top Reviews Review created: 10/01/05 by: 99 of 103 people found this review helpful. I have had this for about 6 months and it is one of the best things I could have bought. The directions are good and clear. I have read many revies that say that it does not have a lot of advanced features. In my opinion one does not need too many advanced features - it just confuses things. here are the minor drawbacks. Sometimes in very bright light the screen is not easily visible and the mount does not seem to work perfectly as one would expect. Overall a great buy. Added a 1 gig memory card which will hold the whole version 7 map of the US and Canada for $30. I travel alot and it just flat works. Before I leave on a trip I verify my hotel is programed which it is 95% of the time. My work site address and the airport. While in a strange town I use the Points of Intrest to find dinner and the occasional tourist attraction. My only complaint is yes the screen is sometimes a little hard to read in bright sunlight. Prior to this I had a Navman, which my wife called the crack man. She now uses the Street Pilot on a regular basis. Garmin has a much much better and very intuative interface. The onboard battery is a nice touch. Voice is just loud enought in my convertible with the top down. I really didn't need a unit with a MP3 player or to answer my phone. For a basic unit with excellent performance this is the way to go. Review ID: 10000000001256116 Was this review helpful? Report this review 42 of 47 people found this review helpful. I've had mine for about 6 months also, and I love it. It's never let me down - I've been able to find every address I've ever thrown at it - all over the state! I agree with the previous reviewer sometimes it is hard to see the screen in bright sunshine, but I see they make a shield for that purpose, I haven't tried that yet though. I love my Garmin. --Steve in Pa. Review ID: 10000000000979244 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 07/03/06 by: 10 of 10 people found this review helpful. Very simple to use. I recommend buying a 1 gig memory card to store the entire V7 map. It's fast and accurate and gets you there. I agree with the bright sunlight washing out the screen. Voice prompt keeps you on track. This is my third unit and I would highly recommend it. There are more expensive units, but for under $350 this one is hard to beat. Review ID: 10000000001275333 Was this review helpful? After spending more time on the road pulling over to the breakdown lane examining the road atlas, stopping at local businesses asking the townies where this street is and that street is, I decided that it would be more beneficial and cost effective (time and moneywise) for me to invest in one of these gadgets. Not only does it guide you mile after mile, street after street, but it talks to you as you are driving guiding you where and when to turn. You simply type in your destination address from the touch screen, press go, and it begins calculating your destination route from your current location. It communicates with a satellite in the sky taking information from there. If type in a destination and hit GO, it will calculate the destination time, miles and tell you along the way the current time as well as the time that it will take you to reach your destination. If you run into traffic, take a wrong turn, run into road contruction, detours, etc.,. it will "re-calculate" from the point where you are and give you the fastest direct route to your destination. It is one of the best investments I ever made. I always thought about buying one but was sceptical about buying anything on Ebay. I have been a cautious internet buyer for a long time. But after careful review of the strict guideline on Ebay. I scanned and researched the credibility of the seller as well as the terms of the sale to ensure that it was a legitimate sale and I was buying a credible product.
