  Garmin GPS V Receiver Cool!

The Garmin GPS V Receiver is an excellent handheld GPS for the money. The manufacturer has installed many user-friendly features that make the first time buyer or the professional happy. They manufacturer has excellent customer service and many additional add-ons to make this unit an extremely versatile GPS to be used in town, on trips, hunting, fishing, cycling, hiking, four wheeling or camping.
Suggestion:
1. One of the best ways to protect investment is to purchase a Protective Case for this GPS. You can find a top of the in line protective case that protects while allowing full viewing and access to all the features of your GPS unit. See a variety of cases at: http://stores.ebay.com/FIS4HER1-COM_W0QQssPageNameZL2
2. Purchase cable accessories that allow you to upload or download maps and data from your GPS. Purchase a 12v auto charger so that you can always keep you unit charged before heading out cross-country. Purchase quality power and data cables at: http://stores.ebay.com/FIS4HER1-COM_W0QQssPageNameZL2
3. Purchase an Amplified External GPS Antenna for the unit. The internal antenna is ok but will become intermittent in high buildings, cloudy skies and stormy weather. Purchase a quality, high gain remote antenna. See specification on 28dB and 55dB GPS antenna at:

Garmin GPS V Has it all.

I bought my Garmin GPS V because I left my Garmin GPS III+ on a picnic table and it disappeared. After using the III+ I liked the convenience and the features and even the shape of the unit, so stepping up to the model V was an easy choice for me. I don't need a color display for geocaching and I didn't want to pay the higher price for it. Being able to switch the display orientation is a great feature. Vertical for hand held and horizontal for use in my truck. I never had a lot of problems getting a good signal in the woods, so I didn't feel the nead for a high sensitivity receiver. It may be a generation or two behind current technology but by no means is it close to being obsolete.

For one of the older non-color GPS units I am impressed. It is easy to use and even though the screen is not very large it is still easy to see even in the dark due to a good back light. It is small enough to take along on hikes or carry in a vehicle. The delux package has everything you need except an external antenna which helps in weak signal places on the road. If you want a small well made unit this is one worth looking at. The screen can be used in vert. or horz. and map programs are good.

This GPS V unit can be used with any computer made after 2000. All you need is a serial port to USB adapter made by Keyspan. Works GREAT!!

The Garmin GPS V is a great little unit. It is very helpful with directions & the auto route calculation is very nice. With the proper software, it can be used anywhere. I decided to buy one after I priced one at a retail store & knew I could get a better deal on eBay!

Accurate positioning, cheap AA's (or accu's), though slow map panning (visible when scale bigger than 1km). Nice to walk with, good for bycicle, slow for car speeds. Nice unit if paid $100-120. (march 2007)

This GPS is a great little unit. It is not color, but does everything you expect for the money. It is portable, and has performed very well for me. I had bought one for my son, and then decided to get one for myself for when I travel. It has not let me down. Finding "places" is a breeze - like shops, restaurants, etc. Loading maps takes a little time, like major cites takes about 10-15 minutes on the serial cable connection. It does not come equipped with a USB cable, and does not support that type of connection for the speed. This is the only draw back I have experienced.

Great product at a great price. This GPS does use local street names at times, so if you are traveling, still good idea to have map. We traveled all the way from Esat Texas to Northeastern New Mexico (about 800+ miles!)using this GPS and it worked great!

What is there to write about? I never received the GPS from you client, and when I tried to report the client to EBay, they said that my complaint was to late,I have to contact the seller.Where do you think I should get his tel. no to contact him?I did try to email him,but no reply.

The support from EBay was very diisapointing.I paid immediately for the GPS.

I seriously have to rethink if I will ever buy anything from EBAY again. We as buyers are not protected as you guys adverise. This is my second time I did not receive my product. My delivery adress is in South Africa.

I am in Aghanistan, and the internet is very poor. That's why it takes so long to correspond with EBay.
