The auto-routing basemap gives pinpoint location of route markers without the need to constantly mark transition points or turns. The Quad-Helix antenna tracks down satellites quickly for minimal downtime while the WAAS-enabled 12-parallel-channel receiver gives accuracy to within 3 meters. The 56MB downloadable internal memory has enough room for 1000 waypoints and 20 reversible routes.

    I saw a news show about "geocaching" and immediately thought it would be fun. I enjoy camping, and this could be another facet of getting out of doors for fun (and less work). I checked out the geocaching.com site and read up on their recommendations of a GPS unit. After much review, I decided on a Garmin. I really wanted either the 60 CSX or 76 CSX, but their costs were a bit high just to see if I was going to like geocaching. Financially, it became a toss up between the 60 CS or 76 CS. I ended up with a used 60 CS and it does everything I want it to. I even splurged and bought the City Navigator program because I can see how helpful a GPS unit can be while traveling.

    The "CS" indicates the unit has a colored screen and an electronic compass.

    As for geocaching use ONLY, the 60 CS and all you need. If you think you'd like to use it for traveling as well, spend the money on either the 60 CSX or 76 CSX. (The "X" indicates additional memory card can be used to provide more memory depending on the size of card being used.)

    This Garmin 60CS is PERFECT for geocaching, driving, hunting, fishing and more!
    There is alot available for this unit. US TOPO Maps, Blue water charts, Topo 24K recreation maps, city select maps and more...

    Do you know that many of our men at war use this very model in combat? I have personally sold many to our troops. I was told that when they arrive in Iraq they have no idea where they are at. They sit up camp and when they are in the fire zone this literally gets them back to camp safely...otherwise they may be lost or spend hours trying to figure out their way around. A GPS system is priceless in this kind of situation.

    This is one of the very best handhelds available, you can trust Garmin, as they have excellent customer service and put out a superior service.

    I have sold hundreds of these units and have never ever had one returned. I also sold many to searchers in the aftermath of the hurricane Katrina....once again a needed and useful tool.

    Don't ever be lost again, take your Garmin 60CS with you...Great backup unit for Marine as well, it accepts BlueCharts and has a Marine mount. Many fisherman/Boaters do not leave home without it!
