Garden Way's Joy of Gardening by Dick Raymond (1983, Paperback)

Its like a gardening bible. I saw this book somewhere and flipped through it nd decided to buy a copy!

This book is written by a gardener who has experimented with his own gardening and has asked for answers from others. The books writer lived in Vermont which is a season #4 gardening area. And the ideas that are talked about work. Because of the short growing season in region #4 the ideas that he talks about help a gardener produce longer growing and more plentiful crops. The ideas also decrease the amount of work a gardener has to do.

This book is great for any novice gardener. Easy to read and follow. Lots of information about plans, planting,weeding and bugs.

Great explainations. The pictures are very clear and illustrate what the writer is trying to get across. I learned a lot about soil preparation and how to plant my garden. I would recommend this book for someone who is just beginning to garden and for someone who needs to tweek his or her knowledge on the subject. Thanks!

I have seen other books but this book is easy and tells a lot about getting started and during growth. There is information for those who thought they new everything about gardening. Great book.

It's written like no other book I have read. Dick tells you how to do it and why. His vast gardening experience is there in black and white.

Great reading every cold winter, it allows you to dream of the next year’s crop and how to do it better. I told my father-in-law about it, he thought he knew everything about gardening too. I showed it to him; he could not put it down.

I have always wanted a vegetable garden, but have known nothing about plants. I've thrown seed in the dirt and had things grow. But now I have a book that can inform me more about the plants themselves and what is BEST to do, and about pests and a whole lot more.

Boy do I miss that book. I guess I don't have the heart to ask for it back because he really, really likes the book. Not only is Dick very wise about gardening, he has a great sense of humor. I even got to watch a few of his TV shows many years ago. I miss them too! If you enjoy a garden, you'ld enjoy this book!
