Extremely engrossing. A beautifully written story about the daily struggles of a young couple during the turn of the century. Their struggles echo many of our own today, yet the way the heroine handles life is just so simple and poetic. A must read!

Usually I start a book - even bestsellers - and quickly loose interest. I'm guilty of having a stack of half-finished books next to the bed.
Not so with Gap Creek!
I love the simplicity of this saga and the uncomplicated style of Robert Morgan. It's refreshing, engrossing, sweet and bitter. An "easy read" about a NOT so easy lifestyle!
Julie's grit and determination are awe-inspiring in the face of various hardships and tragic events. Anyone who has survived flood, fire or betrayal can relate to this book.
My only complaint is that the book ended too fast! I look forward to reading Robert Morgan's other works.

Robert Morgan is my favorite author. His books never fail to put me in a good place. They tell of the stuggles faced by young couples in marriage enduring hardships that would tear apart most couples in this day and age. His writing style is pure and clear and makes you feel like you are right there going through the same things the chacters in the book are experiencing. I LOVED the movie, and the book, "The Grapes of Wrath" and Mr. Morgan's books have that same feel to me. I have read "Gap Creek" at least 6 times. I keep going back to it time and again. A great read!
