After a prosperous, 10-year career, New Orleans native P. Miller releases the first disc on his new label, New No Limit Records. Despite his minimalist approach to production, with the barest drum-machine beat to keep the time, and one synth setting per track to provide the melody, Master P. still manages to create a full, sometimes raucous performance on each track here, particularly on the opener "Take it Outside." Despite the barrage of lyrics thrown about with thick, stereo clarity, the honest, laid-back delivery adds an element of warmth to the tracks, as epitomized in "More than a Woman" (yes, based on the classic Bee Gees tune). The melodic female voices on "Real Love" provide a great contrast to Master P's boisterous, non-stop lyrical onslaught. P. is clearly having a ball on GAMEFACE. The approach may be bare-bones, but it is by no means lacking in energy, and Master P gets his point across with ease.
