Galaxy DX-959 40-Channels Base CB Radio

I had mine for a little over a year until it was recently stolen. I had it running with a wilson magnetic mount bottom-loaded antenna. This was the most powerful radio out of the box I have ever had experince with. It has a lot of settings and contol built into the controls on the front of the radio. It also has a built in frequency counter for tuning in sideband. The only thing I did not like about this radio is that the faceplate does not light up, so if you want to adjust something at night while driving, its tought. I would certainly buy another Galaxy again in the future.

A great radio. Has many more bells and whistles than my Cobra had. Much more power in transmition mode and seems to receive better. Would recomend to anyone.

I bought the galaxy 959 thinking this radio was in good shape. I emailed the seller to see if the radio was in good working shape before the purchase. The seller response Was " that the radio is in good condition and works fine ". When I received the radio, The radio did not recieved or transmit, the meter was broken and the talk back did not work. I had to spend extra money to get the radio. Now I know not to buy any use radios.

It looks great.Doesnt last at all. Less than a year in my rig and it burnt up.I bought it brand new from TA.Any hoo. I pluged in my old uniden 538 pro. And she hasnt let me down after all these years. And I do not get any complaints from fellow truckers.

I will cut right to the chase. This is the best CB radio you can buy for the money. Out of the box performance, well don't let it fool you. This radio with a little help from your CB Mods website and a visit to your local electronic parts store will transform this meek 3 watt radio into a screaming 25+ watt powerhouse with a receiver that matches up to most 10 meter rigs. The board on the current production DX959 is the hybrid of the EPT690010Z, Yep! That is the same one used in the latest Galaxy & RCI (RG99 & RG66)10 meter rigs. Someone finally stepped out of the dark ages of old school technology of using bi-polar transistors and incorporated a pair of MOSFET IRF-520's into the mix. So if you want performance & have the Technical "know-how" to do component-level replacement & the right test equipment, getting the GALAXY DX959 to run with the "Big Boys" is a walk in the park.

Galaxy sets the standards for all radios. The Cobra was a great radio in its day but, not today. I will put a Galaxy stock radio up against any Cobra and it wont be nice. These radios have more mods than most and for the money you cant go wrong. I ask you to look inside any serious Cb vehicle and you will more than likely see a Galaxy radio. Now dont get me wrong the Cobra 19 is a great radio but, lets take them out of the box hook them up and 1-2-3-lets go you will see which is the better unit. This is my option only.

I have owned my 959 for 2 years now and its doing great. I had it peaked and tuned and it does about as goog as my 33hml but without echo. I added a workman dm452 echo mic. and it sounds great im told. Im told I sound big loud and all over town. I say you should go with the Galaxy and not some outdated 29 or pc78

THE GALAXY 959 IS ONE OF THE BEST CB RADIOS ON THE MARKET.
IT HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH FEATURES, AND YOU JUST CANNOT RUN OUT OF THINGS TO DO WITH IT.
ALL IN ALL IT'S AN EXCELLENT RADIO I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT.
I OWN TWO OF THESE RADIOS ONE IN THE CAR AND I JUST GOT ANOTHER FOR THE PICK-UP.I HAVE A FEELING THIS RADIO WILL BECOME A LEGEND.

If your Looking for a Galaxy Radio with allot of built in options and want to add other options this is the Galaxy for you as there is allot of Different Options you can Add on to make this Radio even much Sweeter than Factory Specs. These Radio's will handle that rough ride in a Big Truck with no problems unlike the older Style of Galaxy Radio's that wasnt built to last.

i bought radio because thre pic was nice when i got the radio the crome around face all sratched top and bottom not mentioned in ad knobs loose and dirt and hair around the shafts on knobs.

I purchased this CB for a professional over the road trucker ..... as of now he is waiting to get his truck back so it can be "tweeked" and installed but I will tell you that he is pleased with it and anxious to use. The transaction with Gerry was smooth and uneventful.

Being a trucker, there are times when you need to be heard. The output range is beautiful...it receives excellent, however the echo board used leaves alot to be desired.The craftsmanship made all the difference though...I'd definitely recommend this radio to anyone.

We had the radio a week, and it quit functioning. we ended up trading it and having to buy another one. the cb had been modified before we purchased it, and we had a cb repair man take a look at it only to discover there was loose soder in it.

It wasn`t a so called (Base) cb radio.It can be used for a base.Alto of difference,but after I tuned the radio it seemed fine.

CANT BEAT FEATURES ON THIS RADIO AND THE PRICE ALSO, JUST LITTLE MORE THAN SOME RADIOS WITH A FRACTION OF THE FEATURES THIS ONE HAS. HAD MINE FOR A YEAR AND HAD ECHO ADDED AND P&T, I HAVE THE PERFORMANCE OF A 10 METER IN MY OPINION FOR 60-70$ LESS. GE4T NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS ON MINE ALL DAY LONG. I'M TOLD I KEY UP ALL OVER MOST PEOPLE ON 19 IN HEAVY CHATTER!!!!BUY IT , YOU CANT GO WRONG IF YOU CANT AFFORD "10 METER" RAY----CHATTANOOGA,TN

Just took mine out of the box. From the beginning, poor knobs, poor control of knobs...they twist like really poorly constructed equipment. Galaxy does have nice features, however, not worth it if you are looking for qaulity radio equipment. This is obviously off the shelf..truck stop quality radio. Would never buy again. Uniden Grant Much..Much higher quality radio. Once again, if you are looking for features without quality.....buy Galaxy. If you are looking for quality radio equipment, search elsewhere.
