Nice picture, large footprint, horrible tuning Review created: 09/20/06(updated 07/09/07) 36 of 38 people found this review helpful.
The GPX 7inch screen under-counter tv/radio is typical in styling with big buttons that are sometimes hard to read. The installation instructions recommend installing the unit flush with the front of your cabinet. However, our cabinets (standard sized) are about 4" shy of being deep enough to accomodate the unit. That means after installation, the KCL8806DT sticks out about 4" beyond the cabinet face. All of this is not enough to make me want to take the unit back. However, my main complaint is the horrible cable tuning. I don't know what the unit is doing when it tries to run its auto channel setup, but when it's finished my cable channels are scattered everywhere and most of them are filled with snow. Manual tuning doesn't appear to fix the problem and auto-tuning seems to make things worse. Add to that the complete lack of troubleshooting tips in the instruction "booklet", and you have a very poor product representation. If the stupid thing would just lock in on the cable channels, this would be an adequate, low-cost solution for those who want a tv in the kitchen without taking up counter space. I am going to attempt to lock in the channels one more time. If I'm not successful, I'll be taking the unit back for a refund and purchasing a known brand. It will certainly cost more, but you *get what you pay for*. In this case, $100 may very well equal useless. *** Update *** We took the unit back for a refund, and upon further reflection, changed our initial rating of this product from average to poor. No amount of tuning made the channels come in clearly on this tv. It is junk. Stay away from the GPX brand.

We bought this factory mistake and in good faith figured we had a defective product, the remote on the first one would not change channels and all channels were scrambled, we returned and took a different one, the remote at least changed channels 2-9, but everything was scrambled again, the instruction are horrible, went on the internet and found out from the people that make it saying, please spend 2 hours of your time telling the tv which channel go were, I thank the company for the new hole in our cabinets, overall rating, I want to drop the scale down to a negitive 10.
