G3 - Live in Tokyo (DVD, 2005)

This is a great dvd to own, as are all of Joe Satriani,s cds or dvds, since he is the ultimate guitar God of all time, and probably will be. If you really appreciate true guitar talent, without having to hear bubblegum lyrics, then I suggest you buy whatever you can find as I did, with no regrets. He has taught many, including Steve Vai, another fellow finger flickering God in his own regeim of high class talents. I never get tired of watching any of Joe's dvds, which always blow me away. My favorite part of them, as far as the G3 concerts go, is the last part of the show, when all three jam to great well known songs. On this Tokyo live show, they performed: Foxey Lady, La Grange, and Smoke On The Water...... which give new meanings to the songs, and give them so much justice, unheard of before. I have been to way over 500 concerts, and own many many cds and dvds, and they are all at the top of my lists to must own....

IF YOUR A FAN OF ROCK GUITAR GET THIS DVD THREE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS ON THE PLANET STEVE VAI JOE SATRIANI AND JOHN PETRUCCI . EACH GUIATRISTS BAND ARE TOP NOTCH. STEVE VAI'S BAND FEATURING BILLY SHEEHAN ON BASS.
THIS ONE DVD THAT FINDS ITSELF IN MY HOME THEATER SYTEM ON A WEEKLY BASIS

Last year, I purchased and highly recommend the Satriani Live DVD. The music is awesome, the HD quality, exceptional (both audio and visual) and most important, my wife likes it. Unfortunately, this G3-Live in Tokyo doesn't match the sound quality and HD picture of the Satriani Live DVD. When I need a pick-me-up, or I want to show-off my audio/visual system, I pop in the Satriani Live DVD. I've only watched the G3-Live in Tokyo one time. Let that be my recommendation.

After Petrucci's somewhat somnambulistic set, thank you Steve Vai for salvaging this dvd for me. Very tight band as well dude!

And altho I haven't gotten to him yet, I fully expect to enjoy Satriani's shredding. And the jamming will be fine too, altho I do have some apprehension about their vocalizing (having already heard Vai and Satriani sing).

Satriani's just come on--awesome opener!
