G.I. Joe is a cartoon originally made to help market Hasbro's action figure toyline. However, it's amazing to see the amount of care writers placed in the plots and dialogue, especially when they didn't have to. It's really top quality (most of the time) despite some animation bloopers. Unlike many cartoons today, this one has some basis in reality (and is still relevant 20 years later!).
Pros: The five part "Pyramids of Darkness" story is a great lead-in to the regular series. Episode "Red Rocket's Glare" is one of the all-time best there is. Episode "Twenty Questions" features a Heraldo Rivera spoof. Episode "Haul Down the Heavens" features a green-house effect story way before it became topical. Episode "Cobra's Candidate" features a political story that may be appreciated by adults.
Cons: Some animation goofs here and there (it doesn't really detract from the stories being told). An example: episode "Where the Reptiles Roam" has bad guys escaping in the good guys vehicle by mistake. Also there could be more special features(they do include interviews with Christy Marx of Marvel Comics and Wally Burr).
Overall: Not only an excellent trip down memory lane to '80's cartoons but you may just see something that the keen writers threw in that you understand now as an adult! GREAT FOR KIDS AND ADULTS with PG cartoon violence.

i was born in 1980, grew up watching these,im 29 now and still love watching these,but its even more fun because i have a 5yr. old that loves to watch them also.

This box set is fantastic, GI Joe came on the air when i was kid so i was a huge fan and watching these dvd's bring back alot of memories and it is so much better then any cartoon kids watch today...i have my friends young son watching it now and he loves it . Its kinda expensive buying new but i got it in like new condition for less then half of the original cost and would have paid more. It is an absolute must buy for any G.I. Joe fan..you wont regret it

Great cartoon series, a little corny, but 100% patriotic. My young kids love it just as much the the current generation of cartoons; easy to follow along.

I used to watch this cartoon series as a kid. when i found season 1 i just had to buy it. cant wait to get season 1 part 2 and also season 2.

This GIJOE dvd set is hard to find, stores dont sell it anymore and ebay is the only place to buy it.

The DVD's were good. They were complete episodes of the first year of G.I. Joe. I decieded to purchase Season One Part One because I thought that it would be an excelent addition to my collection. The DVD's are extremely rare and imposible to find in stores.

This is a great item for your collection. More than I expected to get out of it. The video looks great and I have not complaints

Haven't watched the show since I was a kid and it brought back a lot of memories to watch it again. Discs were all in good shape and I enjoyed watching it.

The initial shipping got the item here quickly. Due to an error, a second part had to be shipped. THat part took considerably longer to get to me. Overall, it was a pleseant experience.
