I recommend this book for anyone who admires, collects, buys and/or sells and restores or refinishes furniture. It is a marvelous informative book - filled with all kinds of very useful info - including basic care of furniture - plus helpful illustrations. A must have for furniture lovers. I enjoy reading mine often - and so enjoy the comprehensive information and photographs.

This is a replacement for a previous copy damaged by fire. Simply put, this is a great,fun, informative easy read and reference for dealing with restoring and refinishing furniture. A classic.

I'm currently stripping molding on the entryways in my 1920 home, and The Furniture Doctor not only has some amazing tips to use on stripping, it has good tips on staining and finishing as well. If you work with wood in any manner (sawing, cutting, stripping, finishing, and even collecting antique furniture) this book is for you.
