Full Speed by Janet Evanovich
I liked this novel and the easy and fast reading it allows. The plot is a little slow in places, but I still enjoyed it.
Jamie Swift and Max Holt continue their escapades with the help of "muffin", the state-of-the-art computer in Max's car, that thinks she's human. She has feelings, which regularly get 'hurt', causing her to pout and have temper tantrums. She has access to any and all high-powered computers in the world, including top-secret military ones, which allows Max to get all the information he needs on anyone at any time of the day or night. Jamie gets a 'bonus' when she buys a broken-down vehicle--she inherits a scraggly, mangy-looking dog, appropriately named "Fleas", who turns out to be her best buddy. These characters, along with an allergic computer genius, track down and put an end to the corrupt villians and gangsters who are trying to put an end to Jamie and Max.
