The Full Monty (DVD, 2007, Fully Exposed Edition; 2-Disc Set)

This is a TRUE comedy. Although originally a budget film, it is warm, funny, and has mass appeal. Topic is current, as it is about the ex-workers from a plant closure. BUT, watch for the relevancy, humor and nice "pick me up" feeling. We have watched this several times, and shown to several friends. A true, lasting classic!!

I FIRST SAW THIS MOVIE AT MY MOTHER'S IN FLORIDA WHEN WE WERE VISITING. IT WAS THE FUNNIEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS!!!
AS SOON AS I GOT HOME FROM FLORIDA, I BOUGHT IT FROM EBAY. BRAND NEW DVD THAT I WILL TREASURE FOREVER!!
I AM NOT USUALLY A FAN OF BRITISH FILMS, BUT THIS IS AN ECEPTION. IT IS NOT ONLY FUNNY BUT A VERY TOUCHING TRUE STORY. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT SEVERAL TIMES TO PICK UP ON EVERYTHING. IT IS NOT IN THE "QUEENS ENGLISH" AND SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND THEM SPEAKING. IT CAME WITH SUBTITLES BUT IF YOU WATCH IT A FEW TIMES, YOU REALLY DON'T NEED THE SUBTITLES AND IT KIND OF WRECKS THE MOVIE WHEN YOU HAVE TO READ SOMETHING AND WATCH.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I HAVE EVER PURCHASED AND I WILL TREASURE IT FOREVER. I WOULD TELL EVRY ONE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU WANT TO GET A GOOD LAUGH!!!

We enjoyed the movie very much. And wanted to beable to watch it when we wanted. We recieved it promply and were happy with the seller.

The cast was great--The whole plot of the movie was fresh and different...unlike the remakes of today. I saw the play ,which was good--but the movie had so much more in it! Like reading a book. I think any one would enjoy this movie.

Classic movie in our collection. Great story and well-developed characters along with a lot of British humor.

What an original movie this was!It was cute and entertaining and really adorably sensitive. It was a movie that makes ordinary with ordinary bodies and body image issues truly sensitive and believable. This version showed their true shall I say "endowments" or lack there of. Ha! Either way it was campy and funny and has the making of a cult classic. If you liked "Calendar Girls" you will LOVE this too./..this is the male version of that delightful movie with attitude.

A Special edition of a Very Special Movie, I think that everybody should watch this movie and understand that FX, costumes and money are not so necesary for a history to get to your heart. A lot of great artists made their way from this movie forward. I Think that english have a natural connection with their feelings created by the atmosphere in which they live: No Sun, Rain and Fog, Sadness and blues.

In hopes of raising a few quid after their steel factory shuts down, a desperate group of working-class blokes in Sheffield decide to form an exotic male dance troupe, a la Chippendales, with one difference--despite their, well, average-at-best physiques, they're going to go "the full monty," meaning they'll offer their audience total nudity. Surprisingly bittersweet moments and well-intentioned social commentary imbue this raucous, feel-good comedy from England. This is a truly excellent+ movie about unemployed men in in the economically depressed steel making town of Sheffield, England. (by the way, some of the worlds finest steel for knives, swords and shaving razors has come from Sheffield) Most all of the men are depressed and broke, one attempted suicide, one has been lying to his wife for months about his job (or the actual lack of one).....and everyone of them is desperate for work.
After seeing a huge roomful of women screaming at the Chippendale male strippers that had come through their town, the men get the idea of doing their own version of a strip show, using local steel worker talent, including themselves, and promising the ladies something they did not see with the Chippendale's....a chance to see EVERYTHING (g-strings come off)...hence "The Full Monte".
Watching these everyday guys swallow their pride and learn how to strip and dance naked in front of each other is absolutely cool. I am not gay - "Not that there's anything wrong with that", nor is this a gay orientated movie like a lot of my friends think it is, but I feel it will be enjoyed by EVERYONE once they get past any preconceived misconceptions. If you have kids and are in any sort of outs with your partner you will truly feel for the man who would and does literally do anything to be with his son again! There is a bit of coarse language that only lends to the realism of this spot on film. I would have no problem letting my 14 year old daughter or 13 year old son watch this already a classic in my house movie. Have a few drinks, smoke some tobacco or whatever and watch this movie in the evening. Don't be afraid to feel for the dad trying to be with his son, or the chubby guy who has to confess to his wife about what he is up to, as they get ready to show the girls "The Full Monte"!

Too funny for words. I had to stop the DVD several times to catch my breath. And it was a really well made movie.

This is one of my wife's favorite movies. She has watched several times and loves it!!! We would have had a hard time finding it anywhere else.

OF COURSE I BOUGHT IT FOR THE MUSIC...........AND FOUND A VERY GOOD MOVIE.
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YOU NEED TO PURCHASE IT. I WAS VERY GLAD I BOUGHT IT ON EBAY RECENTLY. IT HAS BEEN ADDED TO MY TOM JONES COLLECTION OF COURSE FOR HIS SONG "YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR HAT ON" DURING THE FINALE!
IT MAKES YOU WANT TO GET UP AND...........DANCE!
THE ONLY THING THAT COULD HAVE MADE THE MOVIE BETTER...TOM IN THE FULL MONTY.
