This camera is one of the best camera's I have ever had the pleasure of taking pictures with. Its easy, has a great menu and face detection that works great! The only down side I see is the way the unit works with Microsoft Windows XP. Fuji took a step backwards in the way that the software interfaces and detects the camera in XP. If Fuji would fix this issue this unit would be worth it's weight in gold! The Macro and Super Macro is just that, SUPER! I sold a Canon 5D and purchased this S6000fd and it was well worth it! I love this camera. Even with the software issues, I would buy this camera again....

  Fuji Finepix S Series

This camera is an excellent buy for the price. It takes quality photos that print EXCELLENT. I used this camera for 2 years for the stock photography industry. I was able to produce sellable, clean, crisp jpeg images. It has a RAW setting for those semi-pro shooters (or moms that want to edit and make WOW photos of there kids).

The only issue I ever had with this camera is a slight purple fringing that comes along with a slightly poorer quality camera. It was generally easy to remove in Photoshop.

When I upgraded and decided to pay a little more for a cameral I bought a Cannon 30D. This is a step more toward the proffessional series of cameras.

  Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd - A Great Camera!

What drew me to this camera the most was the nice "Look" of it. It has a real solid, professional look. And once I got it, it has a nice feel to it. I went to a local store and held a Canon and Sony camera in this price range and basic same features, but they did not hold well, and feel right in my hands. The Fuji shoots excellent in low light, my second choice I bought it, based on reviews I read. It has so many other nice features too. Out of all of the cameras out there in this category of point and shoot and type of features, it is hands down for this camera in my opinion.

If you are looking for a camera that will fit in your pocket this is not the camera for you. The weight with batteries and XD card is 23.3 oz. The Fuji S6000 is close to a professional SLR camera. The 10.7x optical lens is not removeable like a professional SLR. The Fuji is a very well made solid camera made for the consumer that wants more zoom and like professional features. The Fuji is only a 6.3 pixel camera but just because another camera may have more pixels does not mean it will take better pictures. The lens is the key to great pictures. The Fuji does have a very good lens. The LCD viewing monitor is 2.5 inches 235,000 pixels TFT color. The fd on the end of the 6000 stands for face detection. This feature makes skin color more life like. The iso sensitivity is ISO 100/200/400/800/1600/3200. The auto focus is TTL 256-zone metering. The pop up flash has a range up to 27.2 feet. The viewfinder is TFT color LCD 115,000 pixels with 100% coverage. This camera is loaded with features, I just listed the features that stood out to me. If there is one thing to remember when you are looking for a good camera it is what people say about the picture quality. Remember that more pixels does not always mean better pictures, it is the cameras lens that really counts. I know that I said this before but a lot of the cameras on the market are trying to be stylish and that doesn't do a thing for taking good pictures. The Fuji S6000fd is a winner in lens quality so this means it does take beautiful high quality pictures.

Extremely happy with this purchase. Did my research and this camera had a great recommendation. Found a great bundle package from the seller. The camera itself is fast and takes very clear pictures. I am very pleased with it and highly recommend it to others.

I absolutely love this camera. The face detection is wonderful. I also loved the "natural" setting. It took 2 pictures at once and I could choose if I liked the picture w/out flash or with flash. Very great camera, lots of great features!

Used the camera on a vacation to Europe. Very good high ISO sensitivity, excellent macro mode and the manual control of the zoom lens via a ring is much better than the button based zooming.

I like everything about it. The company I bought it from was very helpful. I only had difficulty with the purchase since it was my first purchase on e bay. I messed it up and bought two by mistake, and they took care of the problem immediately. I received the camera promptly and in excellent condition. Very pleased with the purchase, and would recommend anyone looking for a camera to look no further.

Great Upgrade from My First Digital Camera

This camera has great zoom capabilities coupled with excellent pixel density to allow me to get action photos of the kids soccer games as well as great portraits.
I almost feel guilty about the price as I got a number of quotes from so-called discounters before going to ebay, and this beat everyone locally by a mile!

I really love this camera. It has the look of a professional digital SLR yet it's pretty simple to use and has a ton of options and settings. The only thing for me and it is a SMALL setback is the EVF (electronic view finder), it looks like a computer screen when you are using the camera with that. Other than that, I love this camera.

  Fuji Fujifilm Finepix S6000fd

One of the best non-SLR digital cameras that have ever been made, this camera has two things that are somewhat unique. One is a 10:1 ratio zoom lens with relatively good optical quality. The other is an image sensor that is relatively large and that doesn't push the megapixels too high (6 Megapixels), resulting in unusually large pixels. This, in turn, gives a very hiqh quality, low-noise image, especially in low lighting conditions. Consequently, this camera is very highly regarded for it's versatility and image quality.

I couldn't have asked for better for the first camera I had had in the last 40 yrs...
everything was right out of the box, in incredibly good condition, and, as advertised, the only thing missing was the barcode from the box, which had to be turned in for a mail-in rebate...

I had a Fuji s1000fd but wanted manual zoom without the price of SLRs. This is the camera for that. I do miss the bigger zoom of my old camera (which I sold to buy this one). But other than that, WONDERFUL CAMERA!

I bought the FujiFilm S6000 camera about 2 weeks ago and I am very impressed!! The features on this camera are perfect for me. They are easy to use & I am in love with it. I am not a professional, thus I was not looking for a perfect camera, but this is the perfect camera for me! I am a mom of a 2 year old & this camera catches him in a great photo even in mid-motion. I live in the mountains & it takes breathtaking nature photos. The videos are not the best quality but it's not a camcorder! The videos are actually better than my last camera. The s6000 size is okay, but its definitely not a pocket camera. Buy this beauty a case. I highly recommend this camera. I love that it is simple to use & has so many features. I am in love with this camera.

  Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd 6.3 Megapixel
Review created: 11/26/08

I really like this camera though I am a total amateur. I initially decided to buy it based on good reviews and because I wanted a camera that was good in low light. So far I have been very happy with the results. Color is true and images are sharp. I have a lighter, 7mp Canon but I usually pick up the Fuji. It's more comfortable and secure to hold. I think the controls have been slightly easier to learn and use though it might be daunting if you have never used a digital camera before. I still have more to learn about this camera but I've done very well so far with the just the basics. Battery life is good even with rechargeable batteries.

  Very nice intermediate camera

Like the versatility the auto focus and manual focus abilities. Great camera for a step into the world of digital photography for both the amatuer and the semi-professional. Nice colors and good picture quality, better than most larger megapixel cameras.
