Culinary Arts "Old School" by Jeff Smith

I remembered this show as a kid, normally shown on Saturday's Cooking Bloc on my local PBS station. For nostalgia, I purchased this now out of print title on the ebay market. I also found the show very informative and it gave me an insight to prepare good cooking on a budget. In this particular episode, Jeff Smith, the Frugal Gourmet, adds his normally good humor and charm with two children. Always a teacher, he indulges witticism with having the two young children help him prepare the colonial dishes, giving them solace as he explains the actual techniques used by the cooks of our forefathers. Viewing Mr. Smith's visual and tactile approach broadens the educational theme of colonial cooking in this episode. Easy enough for the viewer to duplicate in relative fashion at home.
