Frontier(s) (DVD, 2008)

I generally do not like scary or gory type movies however, this one was recommended to me so I just figured I would buy it. The movie actually had a ood story line, kept me riveted to my seat and scared! The setting was great for this type of film. The subtitles were not even needed as it was relatively easy to follow, in a good way. Plenty of blood and guts but, in this particular movie it fits in perfectly.

O.K., I don't like reading movies, but this one is worth watching, if you are a big fan of 80's slasher horror. Adding to the horror, is that the family of cannibals are also Nazis! Wow, how politically incorrect! Cannibal Nazis! This could have been an early 70's drive-in movie if the cannibals were in full nazi regalia, but I guess that would offend people now. Nobody wants to see a sharp dressed Nazi cannibal. I give this one 2.5 skulls and 1/2 a swastika for lots of hateful bloody gore stuff, and scant political underbones.

The film is in french only and the sub title only tells you half of what there saying.The acting is not very good either

what a bloody treat! if you like your horror/slasher films to begin in a somber, alienating mode, with political anarchy thrown in for good measure, and driven off track (or lost on the road like some of the characters) then add some neo nazi sickos, mutant children, hungry pigs and an aged ss henchman, then this twisted, over the top gore fest delivers all the goods that hollywood once turned out in the 70s. why is it that france( "inside" and the hopefully to be released in the u.s. "martyrs" etc) or germany("antibodies" etc) spain("rec" etc) and sweeden( "let the right one in") can all make masterful horror films that pay homage to the hollywood gore films of yore,and manage to add a new, interesting twist? and here in the usa we just churn out predictable drivel or bad remakes of brilliant foreign horror. c'mon guys. you must buy this movie now!!!!! and check out all the above and more european horror films.

Pretty good movie, as long as you can get by reading subtitles. It is very easy though, being that there is not much dialogue to follow the movie. Kind of like French Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Pretty cool movie with very determined chick fighting her way out of hell!

Good blood and gore flick,if you like this kind of movie. Reminds me of High Tension.Bought it because I've read reviews about Foreign horror movies. Seems all American flicks are now toned down .

If you like to read this movie is all subtitles, unless you are fluent in german and french. This movie is not scary but a mix of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn, and Deliverance. Too many different scenerios and absolutely no story line at all!!! The trailor is the best part of the movie, and the music by The Leo Project is expected in the movie but not in there at all. I am pretty sure that is the only reason I finished the movie, and it definately wasn't worth the wait. Try the original movies that this movie tried to repeat, but couldn't compare before watching this one!!!!

I love the horror film fest videos. I love the gore involved with it. I wished they had done more with the mutant children.

WARNING EXTREME VILOENCE-It's official the french are madmen! In this movie, their obvious answer to American Movies like Saw and Hostel extreme gore is to be had. While their is subtitles as everyone speaks in french you'll hardly even notice as your drawn to what is gonna happen next! Like I said before If you like Horror this movie is a must. I give it 4 stars. (Does not suck like the other 8 films to die for in the afterdark horrorfest series)
