Friendship Bracelets by Laura Torres (1996, Paperback)

My daughter is nine and she was able to make the first and easiest bracelet in this book. Adult help is needed at first but directions are clear and diagrams easy to read. Be sensitive to your child, as they do not have the same level of small motor skills as you do - I had to help hold some of the floss at first to aviod one frusrated little girl.
Don't be afriad to buy this book if the string is missing. These instructions work just as well with embriodery floss from the craft store! The craft store has amazing colors and you can create ones that look more cool than the ones pictured here! Floss is very inexpensive too! Don't be concerned with the clip on the book either. Packing Tape works better - just tape those stings down to the table - works 10 times better than the clip.
I highly recommend this book (especially if you would like to do something together with your kids). Be prepared to give your child a hands on lesson - most children, as easy as this is laid out, will not be able to create them unless you SHOW them first.

I was with my grand-daughter, Kimberly and she was making friendship bracelets, she made me one along with an anklet. I decided to go on EBay and look for the book. I have several grand-daughters and thought this would be something that any one of them would enjoy, boy, was I right.....the next time my grand-daughter Alyssa came over she made bracelets for everyone, she was up till 3.00am two nights in a row...I finally let her take the book home and ordered another one...It is not easy to find things that entertain children at grandmas but "Friendship Bracelets by Laura Torres " did the trick......

I bought this for my grandaughter who loved it. It was appropriate for a 7 year old and very instructional.

I love this book! It gives me so many different and NEW patterns to try while bracelet making! It's a really good hobby, and my friends and I usualy swap patterns! This book will make it a lot easier. The steps are super easy to follow, good for beginners OR experts. It's a really great buy, and I'm really happy I invested in it! Happy bracelet making!
