Friday the 13th - Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan (DVD, 2002)

I recently bought Friday the 13th Part 8 on DVD. This time around a group of high school senior graduates go on Graduation Party Cruise to New York. Unexpecting little do the people on board the cruise ship kow that Jason has invited himself as a uninvited guest and begins his killing spree again.The cruise itself turns into the cruise from Hell. I like the Friday the 13th series, but there are certain movies that I like in the series, this is one of them. If you are in need a good horror flick, then this one is for you.

Ok, this is not a great movie, heck it's not even a good movie. But it is fun, especially for horror fans. After seeing Jason slashing his way through camp counselors, survivors from previous movies and other small town folks it is great to see him going to the city.

Jason does what he does best on a Senior trip cruise bound for NYC. Aboard is a girl who has a fear of water - why is she taking a cruise?! I will only give you one guess as to whether or not she survives and whether she is a virgin (answer is the same for both of course!) After he gets done at sea Jason makes it to NYC. And if he can make it ther...well you know. Lots of running and screaming and Jason gets killed...again, but not with much success since there are 2 more movies in the series.

Overall this is a good movie if you love making fun of horror movies from the 80's. You know the ones that scared you back then but now you are too embarassed to admit it. Watch the first 3 if you want better horror, but this one is fun.

I had to get this movie since im from the N.Y.C. area myself. I have all the Friday the 13th movies. But in this one he goes for a stroll on Times square. It started kind of slow paced with how he got there. But he sure stirred up the excitment and the people of New York City. If your a Jason fan then im sure you would like to add this to your collection. It sells for an adverage price. So I dont think you will be sorry to buy it. Especially if your a Native New Yorker as I am.

I love this movie! This is a must have if you love to watch Friday the 13th movies! 5/5 Stars! A++

i like the way jason vorhees stalks his prey, it is so classic friday the 13th good job directing this movie, and keep up with more hopefully in the future. thanx again jason

This I think is one of the best Friday the 13:th, who produced! Why? I like to have currage to have creative to make one chapter when Jason is i NewYork and Slasher people like he did in Camp Chrystal Lake! I give this 4 Star for that!

I have not received by dvds yet from my current purchase yet i will comment that the item received will be brand new factory sealed,with the latest HD widescreen tv resolution for the new LCD HD TVS out there as the U.S. becomes digital on tv before the deadline of February 2009 where we will all need to be updated and i can tell you all the dvd will be number one at its best quality.the sellers are the highest dvds sellers for ebay and they are the fastes shipping sellers to the item to you fast,congrats!

I was a Friday the 13th Fan about until about Part 6.
Part 7 was a let down because of the lack of Gore and this one is even worse.
There is hardly any gore in this one and it just doesn't add up to any of the other Fridays...not even Part 5 and thats pretty bad. Rent at own risk.
Boring, not scary.

My kids love this movies- they are 14 & 18- it's are very suspenseful, they watch this one over and over again. They don't even move until it's over.
