Frida (DVD, 2003)

Frida was quite a character! The tragic story of her life is painful to watch. The movie itself depicted her life truthfully and in my opinion, too explicitly. It was sad to see her suffer both physically and emotionally. It is often said that people will do anything to try and ease the pain they feel and I believe that was so true in her life. She seems to have loved her husband deeply, but his infidelity added to her pain. Her artwork is beautiful and shows her torment as well. Personally, I wish they would have toned down the sex scenes.....true to life or not, it was embarassing for me to watch. Seems like movies these days don't hold anything back which is too bad.
