I am a great fan of Dawn French's BBC "Vicar of Dibley". French & Saunders "Living in a Material World" was devoid of humor. Understanding that there is a comic gap as wide as the pond that separates the US from the Uk, I wonder if the Brits got anything out of this effort. I also purchased "Gentlemen Prefer French & Saunders" via Ebay. I have not watched it and sincerely hope it is better than the "Material World". Perhaps French and Saunders were cutting their comedic teeth on these little ditties.
