Clare Cosi owns the popular Village Blend coffee house in NYC, & is being romanced by a hunky detective while life in general is going good for her....at the moment! Her luck changes from good to bad overnight. Her ex-husband, Matt, returns, her daughter is having a romance meltdown, and then there is that little thing called murder. One of her daughter's fellow interns at the classy restaurant, Solange, turns up dead, along with the celebrated head chef that works there. After solving 5 murders, Clare does not want to get mixed up in another, but unfortunately, her daughter, Joy, is the prime suspect in this one. Clare is forced to look into each of the victim's past and realizes that both were keeping some deadly secrets that any number of people would have killed them for.
Each new book gets better and better. You can almost smell the coffee brewing while you read. Excellent plot. Clare has to work to unravel the mystery.
