Freddi Fish 3: The Case of the Stolen Conch Shell (PC Games, 1998)

I was given two Freddi Fish CDs my mom bought on a lark at a garage sale. My four year old had never played computer games before, and I wasn't hopeful she'd catch on too quickly. I was EXTREMELY pleased with the entire Freddi Fish product line, as it was engaging for a 4 year old, and just as engaging for a 40 year old. (Me.) Each game is a cross between a scavenger hunt and a maze, and my 4 year old was able to remember where she had seen certain clues (to reach the ultimate solution of the case) much better than I did. The game was bright with very good animation and music. There are even games within the game. (For example, in one sea cave the player tosses food at turtles before the turtles can reach him. In another area, a starfish teaches kids how to count. Some games are more sophisticated than others and appeal to different ages - specified on the disk.) I can't recommend this product line highly enough. We are actively searching out all the CDs to add to our collection.
