Fred Couples is one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour. This book is about the early career of Fred Couples and the trials and tribulations that he went through in the early years, from college to his marriage to Tias in 1999.
I liked this book because it went further into who Fred Couples is than just "the golfer" and gave information about his early career and how he struggled to get his first win and how he went on to become one of the most successful golfers on the tour. It does an excellent job of telling the story of his first Masters Win and how heartwarming it was for him and his family.
Did you know that Fred Couples went to college with Jim Nantz and that he and Fred would "pretend" to be in the Butler Cabin after Fred wins the Masters? Jim would "interview" Fred and they would practice how they would present the green jacket. (of course this all came to be in 1992 when he really won the Green Jacket at the Masters tournament)
This is a great read for any golf fan and a must have book for the Fred Couples fan. Fred Couples is really a reluctant superstar and this book gives insight to the Fred Couples that we rarely see on TV.
With his boyish charm and innocent grin, Fred Couples is a star on the PGA tour and this book is a very good insight into that star.
