Frankenfish (DVD, 2004)

This movie was really good because it had the feel of 'Tremors' up until about halfway through. When they decided they should add human bad guys with guns, the story became uninteresting and flat. They also make a bold move in killing one of the story's main characters that may upset anyone who likes the movie to that point. This is by no means masterful but it is still entertaining enough to watch at least once. Monster movie fans should check it out for sure though. 3.5/5

First of all I had never heard of this movie until a friend mentioned it. So I wanted to see what it was about. It was kind of slow at the beginning but as the movie went on get got a little better. I thought the monster fish started off killing too early and they really didn't show what it looked like until towards the middle of the movie and there after. This is an average horror flick it really wasn't scary at all. I was kind of expecting a little nore horror.

I was quite surprised with this movie. For a B-horror movie that you see cluttering up the new release and previously viewed sections of the video stores. I took a chance on buying this and was not disappointed. It's one of those few movies that you can watch time and again. The effects are great especially with the fish and the gore. The characters are likeable and the story line is interesting. You have to leave reality in check while watching this. It's a movie to sit back and have fun with. You have to like horror and monster flicks to enjoy it.
Good little horror movie.

I'm giving this movie a below average rating only because my friends and I rented this, and laughed the whole way through. The only thing is, it's not supposed to be funny, it's an action movie. The plot is just flat out dumb, genetically mutated fish are accidently released into a river down in Louisiana. The movie is so predictable, characters getting pulled under, or getting their head bit off. The acting and graphics are pitiful. I wouldn't recommend watching this for an action adventure. However, if you're into making fun of incredibly terrible movies, this is for you!!!!
PS. If you do like terrible movies, watch Tremors 4 also(lets just say they should have stopped after the first one, but managed to make 3 more!)

Frankenfish was shot on location: New Orleans. I love location films. and a spook to boot? awesome.
