Foundry Miniatures Painting & Modeling Guide by Bryan (FWD) Ansell, Kevin Dallimore (2006, Hardcover)

For the past two years I have tried to expand my miniature painting. I have dabbled in it before, but have gotten more serious lately. I wanted a guide with lots of photos and step by step material, and this guide delivers.

If you are just starting on the road to mniature painting, I can not recommend this book enough. It has superb, easy to follow instructions on painting, and shows examples of the different level of painting you can expect to achieve.

The book is full of pictures, and each step in the painting process is clearly illustrated. The road from a bland piece of lead to a ready to diplay or play model is well defined. All the tools necessary are shown clearly, and there are different suggestions useful even to a seasoned painter.

While many guides focus on one era or shpere, this guide has wondeful examples of models from ancient warriors to futuristic scifi characters, and throws in tips on vehicles and scenery.


The initial investment may seem high, but it is well worth the outlay of cash, especially if you are in an area without other painters to learn from.
