Essentially, Michael A. Seeds 9th & 10th editions of "Horizons" and "Foundations of Astronomy" are similar in chapters; however "Foundations..." does have about a hundred pages extra pages. An instructor would find a slight frustration in trying to run a class and have students inter-exchanging book copies. Either the student would have to much information and would miss the library research or the instructor could be using the smaller book and the student may have the advantage of the extra reference.
The books are written to the novice and don't be mislead with the "Foundations" as this book will stimulate the more advanced expert equally.
