Album Notes
This isn't the definitive single-disc Blood, Sweat & Tears best-of compilation; that honor stills goes to the remastered version of their 1972 GREATEST HITS. This does, however, give a good picture of band's eclecticism, which is to say BS&T weren't just a "horn band," as revisionist history would have it.
Most of the hits ("God Bless the Child," "Spinning Wheel," "You Made Me So Very Happy") are here, of course, and they still sound fresh as paint, but the less familiar tracks are equally impressive. "You're the One," for example, from their semi-obscure album, 1976's MORE THAN EVER, is an exquisite romantic soul ballad, while the previously unreleased "Love Looks Good on You" is a first-rate Motown pastiche.
