I have just come to know GBS within the last year and really enjoy their albums - but I must say I like Fortune's Favour, their most current CD the least. Some songs are traditional while others (especially in Alan's raspy, strained voice) seem to try to make this folk group a rock group, which they are not. Alan usually has a more melodic voice.
It's OK if you're completing a collection of GBS and "Walk on the Moon" and a few others to me are certainly worth the price of the album. I will be seeing GBS in an upcoming concert and hope they perform their earlier works more than songs from this CD.
Updated: Since buying this CD and letting my husband borrow it - it is HIS favorite of GBS. I guess there is something for everyone on it. There really is no truly bad GBS album.
