Ford Racing 2 (PlayStation 2, 2003)

Don't get me wrong, this game is fun to play and the cars and scenery are really well rendered. But I almost think I would have preferred less graphic detail and more play options. The controls are ok. The gas pedal is pressure sensitive, which is a good idea, but can cause sore thumbs and damage controller buttons. It can be fun to try to complete all the challenges and unlock all the cars, but it can also be frustrating because some challenges are very difficult. The cars can pretty much just drive...they can't be damaged or flip. This is why GTA can be more fun to play. I know the game is FORD racing, but even with the concept cars, I do get tired of the choices I have. Part of the reason is when you race in 2 player mode you both must select cars from the same class - so your options are really limited. Each race also takes a long time to load before it starts. And you have to reload every time you race. This can be frustrating. If you can get this game for a cheap price then I would say it is worth it.
