The definitive classic, all others have copied from it!
Ahh... when I was a boy, I didn't sleep soundly for days after watching this one. Now, 40 years later, it's still good, and waaaaaay ahead of its time. My (much younger) wife watched it with me and said it was cheesy, but she didn't see it for its story line or its first-ever landmark movie making. Consider the task the makers wanted to undertake, the tools they had, the risk (money spent) in making it, the actors carrying an intellectual plot, making it believable, and you see professionals performing--in frontof, and behind the screen--at their finest. Film students and live art fans should have this just to see what can be done. I still think it's one of the best efforts ever done, considering the period it was done in. There's a lot of this movie in many of the subsequent sci-fi flicks and shows since.
None fo this is about me; watch it as a student of psychology, art, and theatre, and learn how something really great can be done!
