Insightful Read!

This book will resonate with anyone concerned with what they eat. I'm comfortable being an omnivore, but this book has made me much more aware of the lie most meat based corporations propagate. As such, I'm more selective when I do eat meat and aware of the dangers of over indulgence.
John Robbins does a great job demonstrating the impact western diet has on the environment and society at large. This is a well documented and fairly detailed review of how much influence "big beef" has on american culture. You don't have to be a vegetarian to appreciate "The Food Revolution'". John doesn't try to guilt trip the reader. His tone is that of a warm and friendly educator. You learn early on that he turned his back on a fortune for his beliefs. He was heir to the Baskin Robbins franchise, but he walked away from the family business and poured his heart into what he believes in. John stands out with the likes of Michael Pollan (Author of "The Omnivore's Dilemma") on the subject. Reading this book was a life changing experience.
