Anchorage, Alaska-based bluegrass group Barefoot followed in the footsteps of Nickel Creek and Dixie Chicks by winning the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival Best Band award. Though Barefoot's members were barely out of their teens when FOLLOW ME was recorded, the group sounds much older, with a commanding use of dynamics and well-developed ear for melody. The band particularly excels at warm ensemble playing, as evidenced on "Molasses" and "Just Stay."
