Foiled [ECD] by Blue October (Rock) (CD, Apr-2006, Universal Records USA)

I bought this album for my own collection. Love the music, vocals, all of it! Having only heard one song on the radio, I purchased on the blind side, but the entire CD is awesome! Looking forward to hearing move from this group!

i was hesitant to get this cd since i havent heard much from them only Hate Me and Into The Ocean on the radio, so i figured as with most groups that was there hits and the rest would be mediocre... i have to say that i was wrong and that EVERY song on this cd is great.
im glad i took the chance to try something new and i believe it was money well spent.
I highly recommend this cd for everyones collection its a keeper!

What an amazing sound. It's a cross between U2, Collective Soul, the Proclaimers, Matchbox 20, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer but with a sound all their own. It's all I've been listening to for weeks! Unbelievable!

I bought this as well as concert tickets to their show after seeing the band on the Tonight Show, and subsequently hearing Justin interviewed on our local Rock Station. I expected the album to possibly be too hard, but he was such a well spoken, down to earth and artistic sounding guy that I just had to check it out.

It is beyond fantastic. There are so many good songs that I just keep thinking, what will hit the radio next. The melodies are solid, the lyrics--although often sad and conveying breaths of self doubt and loathing--ultimately embrace hanging on and surviving through artistic expression and conquering our own demons. And, seeing simple things beautifully, like how you feel after the first time with someone.

I Love Hate Me: I know it gets a lot of airplay, but still love it. Appreciate the fact that a song with a title about hate is ultimately aone about the most true love that exists, that of a mother to her child.

Little things: Justin's voice has an ache to it that is both beautiful and strong, despite the frequent expression of anguish. The violin: just love the way it synthesizes the musics and the vocals with a fluency and softness in juxtaposition to the sometimes harsh and sorrowful lyrics.

And, mostly, the band is just damn good. I must check out the previous albums.

It was OK, liked the song "Hate Me" kind of gets you in a solemn mood though. Watch the lyrics if you have kids...cuss words sneak up on you.

Love this CD. This Texan writes his own songs and they are a therapist's education or a person in torment's voice. I loved it both as a therapist and as a person who has worked with those in pain, and was once there myself. I also have a family member who is still there and when I cried it was bec. of the songs and for him. I want to find other CD's by them, and I hope they are as wonderful. I would highly recommend this to anyone who works with teens, or has someone they love with MH issues.

this is my new favorite CD of the year. Fabulous.. Every song is kick butt.. this whole review thing is very annoying though. must put in so many characters, blah blah blah. I love the CD.. What else do you want from me......

~I bought this CD because I loved the song "Hate me". This CD is one of the best ones I own. It's a mix of genres and I loved that. I can also hear some U2 and Springsteen in the CD, intentional or not, and I love both artists and that made this CD even better. Great CD, great band! ~

This is an album that you sit and listen to from the first to the last song much like Dark side of the moon.I am not comparing this band to Pinkfloyd just the album format.The songwriting is very heartfelt like they we're definiatly writing from the heart and not just looking to chart.The hit song on the album is ...hate me..song five,But you definiatly want to start at the beginning and listen to it all the way through maybe turning some song up louder than others.

They rock! What a great CD. Some of it gets a little slow, but I love it anyway. Track 3 is my favorite.

I've read the other reviews people wrote, and it really is amazing how much I feel the exact same way so many others do about this band. I can't stop listening to them. If I'm home, their playing, in the car, at the gym on my headphones, I'm humming them the rest of the time.
They are amazing. The songs just imbed into your mind, and you love them more and more every single time you hear them. You keep thinking you'll get tired of listening to the cd, but you never do. I actually crave it.
If I could marry this band, I would. All I can really say is- GO BUY THIS CD.
I am only grateful that I didnt let another album go by without finally discovering them. They have 4 others out there- so buy those too!

Don't get me wrong, I love all the songs equally, but these seem to be the catchiest for airplay.

I love this group I belonged to a "Music Service" and they can't compare to the selections, prices or delivery of E-bay! I cancelled my service after a couple of purchases I'd never go back! Some sellers are a little slow on shipping but all and all considering the savings its well worth the wait!

I bought it because my boyfriend and I watched the music video for "Hate Me" on MTV...a bunch. I bought it on Ebay because it is not anymore expensive than buying it from a store. Also, I like bidding on items; it's fun. I like the wording of the songs, the structure of the music, and the way I feel connected to many of the songs. I wish that it would have had the words to the songs in it though...although I don't really mind listening to it alot so that I can learn them. I don't like track 12 at all, then 8 and 2. My favorites are 1,3,4,5,9,10,and 11. Oh! I would have liked there to be more pictures of the band in the insert, it was rather bare..but good enough to get me to dish out $50 for a band hoodie. ^-^

I love this CD, listening to it makes me feel like I am in a movie. I'm driving along and their is nothing else in the world. It makes me smile. Blue October is a group with true talent, their voices are different and unique. I decided to buy this CD after they were on a morning show and I heard a live version of track number three. You'll love this melancholy CD!

The next big band. They have their own unique sound. What if we could, Hate Me, The sound of pulling heaven down and You make me smile are all great songs. Their music is totally addictive.

This CD is like a narcotic. Watch out you will get hooked!!!-I first heard HATE ME on the local alternative radio station in Cincy and the song crushed me.It has been years since a single song prompted me to action. I am seeking out BLUE OCTOBER'S other albums and I plan to see them live in Cincy this July--If you have ever been in love, had your heart broken, suffered from addiction of any type, BEEN IN THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE OR LATE STAGES OF MENTAL ILLNESS -this album will speak to you. Don't take my word for it-BUY IT !!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Oh my God! This is an incredible band! The songs are so good. I love that they have different types of songs on the CD, so not all are about heartbreak or not all are about fallin in love. But just to let some know, so of the songs are kind of creepy, but still so good! I cannot wait until the next CD comes out!

it's wonderful! I went to see them in concert a couple weeks ago, and their music is so full of emotion. It was great. It made me want to laugh, cry, scream, and just be angry. I loved it. The CD is great too. This band is going to the top!

This CD rocks....its cool yet twisted....very unique sound.....love the way they tell a story with out getting to cought up in the telling of the story....you just listen and it takes you to what ever place they where in when writing it.

this cd calls out to at least a little part in everyone that i have ever met. it is so freaking cool that these guys can write what they feel and you can hear it in each song. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!

This was yet another Great CD from Blue October. Justin and his group delivers a powerful and deep music set thats not the typical boring bubble gum pop crap, but soulfull music from the heart and head! Great music and greater band!!!!!

Blue October rocks, but not for mixed audiences. You would want to hear the album before letting children hear it.

The third track is the only one to get any time on the radio. They all seem to be really solid songs. They mix instruments and produce a wonderful sound.
