Jodie Foster is a great actress and that's about where this movie stopped. I only went to this movie because I had seen any other good ones in the theater. I wasn't disappointed because I didn't expect any Academy Awards, but the movie could have been a lot better. Cut out 20 minutes or so and the movie would be a lot better. Overall, an entertaining movie for the first time viewing but no repeats.

I had really looked forward to watching this after seeing so many trailers for it, but I was quite disappointed.

It was good for the first half, but trailed off when the plot became obvious and a little repetitive. Not enough suspense and certainly no twists to the plot or suspects.

I'm a big fan of Jodie Foster, and she was still great but other than that, this is not one I'd watch again.

Being a pilot myself I probably look at this movie differently then others. The budget must not have been great, because you really didn't get to see much. I guess the airplane mimics the Airbus A380 with it's shape.

I do know that there are no airplanes with that much open spaces like they showed in the movie (I mean behind panels and latches).

It does show you that a captain has certain responsibilities beyond flying. This is pretty accurate concerning the real world. The plot was somewhat predictable, though the end, in my eyes, had a nice twist.

  A mother's Heart Pounding experience

Being a mother of 5, I found this movie very heart pounding! It really made me angry to see how Jody Foster was treated like some phsyco woman who never brought her daughter on the plane in the first place. As the movie kept rolling I even thought it could be true that would be crazy but, as the plot thickened, The ever trusted security guard changed, from being thoughtful in his attempts to get her help while arresting to, getting very frustrated at her consistant attempts to find her daughter! Very excitting movie, the only thing I could not understand is how the daughter laid a sleep for that long.....Where, you'll have to watch!

Tense, Sets Your Nerves On End!

In this modern retelling of a classic urban legend, a mother (Jodie Foster) finds herself at odds with a skeptical flight crew and her own sanity after her daughter, Julia (Marlene Lawston), vanishes in the middle of a flight, with only a few clues left behind. She must now challenge the boundaries of her will and her mind in her desperate search.

This movie WON The Best Picture Award in 2006 went to James Horner for the Top Box Office Films.

The ASCAP Film & TV Awards are given since 1986 and honor (ASCAP) composers, lyricists and publishers of the most performed music from television and top box office movies.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a music performing-rights organization which was founded in 1914. It is the world's largest organization of its kind with over 130,000 composer, lyricist and music publisher members.

If you are a parent and have ever felt helpless in any situation when it came to the loss or hurt of your child, then you can very easily relate to Jodie Foster's Character.

A great quote from Stephanie (Kate Beahan), a airline stewardess, says it best [over the intercom] "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry to interrupt, but we've got a first to report. It seems our aircraft is big enough to lose a child in. Her name is Julia Pratt (Marlene Lawston), six years old, she is wearing a navy blue jumper. If she's anywhere near you or perhaps playing with one of your kids, please press the call button now. We've got an anxious mom up here. Thank you. "

Be sure and catch this when are in the mood not to be interrupted. It usually takes a while to get into this film as some film take time to develop.

I'll give this a 4/5 for the riveting performance of Jodie Foster and the Ending.

IF YOU LIKE MY REVIEWS PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO LET ME KNOW BY VOTING. THANKS.

I gave this a 4 out of 5.
Jumbeling back and forth in the beginning. It isn't until you get on board the plane with Jodie Foster, that the excitement begins. A mother who is an Aeronautical engineer. Who knows the plans, but this plane she know real well, because she helped design the plane. You have an Air Marshal, who you will find out later has more to do with this scenario than most people. The Captain of the plane,[ everyone will recognise as ian from National treasure]. He has the best part, both on the plane and off. Even though they are a few lines, this man had the best part I think. The story goes, as a conspiracy...to theft...to murder. And 1-relentless mother (jodie foster) who will not give up. We all remember our own Mother's, and a few of us, had Mother's like her.
And now we are grown, and watching movies like this, and the memories come back. A movie worth owning, and watching again and again.

This psychological/action thriller has twists & turns
Review created: 02/01/06(updated 02/12/06)

Jodie Foster gives an excellent performance in this psychological/action thriller. She is flying to the U.S.A. from Europe in a jet (a magnificent one) she helped to design, bringing home the body of a loved one. All of the crew and passengers do not believe she brought her daughter onboard or even if she exists at all. Fosters' character fights to make anyone believe her,the passengers are cruel to her, even when they think she is mentally ill. The movie has twists and turns and even though it is not Fosters' best movie, it is pretty well done.

I thought it was OK...I already knew that it was not rated high by critics, so my expectations were somewhat low. But, I ended up liking it. I do not agree that the ending was predictible. Although, I think the ending I made up would have been better :-)
Anyway, watch it and make up your own opinion.

  Flightplan - A Must See
Review created: 02/11/06
2 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This is one of Jodie's best films. At first, you have a feeling that this is predictable and you already know the ending. You have it figured out. In fact, you could have written the story yourself. But, I found myself stumped and sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense. It does not end how you think it will. Basically the entire story takes places on a plane that her & her daughter board after a death in the family. They are in a state of shock. After awaking from a nap, Jodie finds that her daughter is missing. In a panic, she seeks out help, but only to find that no one ever saw her daughter. They don't even feel for her situation. In fact, they explain her daughter is dead. She never boarded the plane. Or did she? You will never suspect the ending!

This is a must see for everyone!

Just an overall great movie. What an exciting actress Ms Foster is. I really enjoyed this one. Most of the way through it you didn't know what was the truth or what was a deception. It is a rare film you have to wait for the last few minutes to find out what was truely up.

Jodie Foster always has a way in her movies of making you feel the tension and suspense that her character is feeling. This movie is no exception. I watched this movie, never quite sure of what was going to happen until the end. Although not a 5 star movie, it is definitely worth atleast 4 stars for its quality, suspense and surprises.

This movie is more then just a thriller, and a thriller it is. It is twisted in many ways. It plays high on our emotions, and our perseptions. It took me awhile to figure out this story line, but I didn't care that I knew where it was going because it still held my attention. It was a good movie, and one that should get added to your collection. So go ahead bid, buy, whatever, this is a must see.

  A Little Unbelieveable..

Jodie Fosters performance was the only plan this movie actually had, she salvaged what would have been a made for T.V. movie without her. I was not fooled at all about what was going on a few minutes into the flight. I didn't buy into the plot, and there should definitely be a " spoof" alternative ending where Jodie gets to do a who's you're Daddy dance in front of the captain and crew members at the end-watch it, and you'll see what I mean.

This is another great movie. The way she handles her child disappearing and everyone telling her the child died along with her husband, she knew she was right. The action in this movie never stops, there are no dull parts at all. And the fact that the agent (or whatever he was) is the one behind it all along with a flight attendant, you don't expect that right away, although that I did figure out fairly quickly. I would tell everyone who is just thinking about buying this movie to go for it if they like an action movie with twists and surprises. All in all, I give this movie great ratings.

Who doesn't like a good suspense, mystery or thriller? Jody Foster is, and has been one of our better actresses. She is the character she is playing. Excellent plot, Prepare to be engaged & held down from start to finish. Well worth our time. I would watch this again & keep it in my modest film library.
