Flashback (DVD, 2003)

First let me say that I love "bad" horror movies. There are few genres that can be good even when they are bad. A bad drama is stupid or just laughable (but not laughable in a good way), a bad comedy isn't funny, a bad action fim is boring, a bad love story does not leave you warm and fuzzy. Ah, but a bad horror movie. It can be funny. It can be hysterical. It can keep you riveted to your seat as you stare with disbelief and wonder what new bon mot the filmmakers will hit you with next. You can construct entire parties around bad horror. A bad horror film, some funny friends, beer and snacks...your sides will hurt with the laughter.

Unfortunately this German film is just bad. The dubbing is some of the absolute worst I ever heard or seen...you can absolutely tell that the "actors" are speaking a different language. No attempt whatsoever has been made to make you think otherwise. I quickly looked for a way to switch to the original soundtrack and subtitles but that option was not offered.

The story? Who cares.

Please bare in mind that this is no slight intended to the seller. I fully expected either bad horror or something surprising. Not this time. Avoid.
