Fixed Bayonets
This is an authentic (as authentic as a war movie can be;exception Saving Private Ryan, which is the paradigm of war movies.) depiction of the Forgotton war: the Korean "Conflict. While it didn't delve into the political sideshow that was so very much a part of the fabric of the Police Action, it certainly showed the unprepared state of the U.S. to go to war a mere 5 years after winning WWll. The characters were primarily draftees and recalled reservists, with the requisite "grizzled sergeant" who maintains order when the CO is killed. The characters are deftly drawn with a minimum of cliche type soldiers. The plot demonstrates the adage "The man doesn't always seek the job;The job almost always seeks the man"
I liked this film very much and recommend it to all who enjoy stories of conflict and bravery, and not necessarily only the military kind
