Crockpot Cooking Made Easy with Fix it & Forget It Book

I rate this high on the order of cookbooks. Easy to read recipes with no weird ingredients that you have to find from a specialty store. Great for families with a food budget as this uses simple and less expensive products.

If you are a busy working person and love to come home to ready cooked meals, this cookbook is for you.

Gives a varity of recipes for crockpot, slow cooker meals that are tasty and makes you feel good. Alot of comfort foods and casseroles.

I work all day and hate to come home and have to start supper right away for the family. This cookbook has allowed me to come home and relax and feel that I have a hot meal ready to serve. I use this book about once a week.

  Great deal for the money

I BOUGHT THE COOKBOOK BECAUSE MY SISTER HAD ONE AND RAVED ABOUT THE EASY AND GREAT RECIPES. THE PRICE WAS A GREAT DEAL, EVEN WITH SHIPPING, AND WAS AS DESCRIBED. THE ONLY THING I FOUND I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH BEING IN HARDBACK FORM INSTEAD OF A SPIRAL BOUND. I WOULD RECCOMMEND GETTING THE SPIRAL TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR GREAT RECIPES, EASY TO FOLLOW, AND EVEN INEXPENSIVE TO MAKE OVERALL. THE BOOK HAS GREAT COOKING TIPS IN IT ALSO.

  Great cookbook with endless possibilities...

I bought this copy for a gift after enjoying my own copy for the past few years. I've tried many of the recipes and found some family favorites including Slow-Cooker Minestrone, No-Fuss Potato Soup, Teriyaki Pork Roast and Macaroni and Cheese that I make over and over. I always enjoys trying new ones too. This cookbook has made life easier for me, especially while raising small children. I could prepare my meals in the morning when there was more time and not have to worry about it during the hectic afternoons. It has also helped in planning parties. It has been a lifesaver at times. The only negative I've found is that there are so many recipes to choose from it can be a bit overwhelming. After you become familiar with the cookbook, it won't seem so bad. It's actually fun to pick out a recipe to try. I highly recommend this cookbook. Enjoy.

  Fix-It and Forget-It - Crockpot Cooking

I was looking for an all-purpose slow cooker/crockpot cookbook. These recipes don't make you run to the store for that exotic ingredient, and most include items I usually have on hand. Most recipes have simple, easy instructions and require short prep times before putting things in the slow cooker.

One complaint is that there are several recipes that are nearly identical and could have been eliminated to give room for more variety. The book is a compilation from several cooks - more like a family or organization cookbook where you'd find 10 recipes for hamburger stew and all are about the same. Still, an overall good resource with many good recipes.

A Lower Middle Class Mulligan Stew of Recipes
Review created: 07/08/06

This book is basically for working class folksy church type people who dont't know much or care much about what they eat as long as it suits their palate going down. Many of the recipes in this conglomeration of submissions from various people call for such things as adding a can of mushroom soup (presumably the salty Campbell's soup), american cheese, kielbasa, etc., etc. You know the drill. It's recipes for the sort of food you might encounter at Aunt Sally and Uncle Fred's Protestant parish picnic, if you know what I mean. There are however a few recipes that look as though they are healthy.

  Easy to read and prepare

I am very pleased with this cookbook. The ingredients are usually on hand in everyones pantry. If not, all are easily found in supermarket. Some recipes seem similar. For instance, when preparing a roast one states to add a packet of onion soup mix, another would state 1 chopped onion with other spices one has on hand. But then again, how many times have you stood there thinking can I use this instead? So there is a recipe for everyone. They are fast to fix, and yes forget it. Finally I am able to put my crockpot to use. There are recipes for everyone. I am very pleased with this purchase.

There are many interesting and easy recipes that are perfect for summer cooking when you don't want to use the oven, or anytime cooking when you truly want to fix it and forget it. I recommend this book to anyone with a crock pot that is sick of making the same old pot roast.

  I love this book!

I was given a copy of this book when I first got married, and I just bought this book for my sister to have. It has helped me out when I really have had no time to cook big meals, and if managed correctly, I could make different meals for everyday of the week and keep my groceries under $75 for 4 people and still eat AWESOME tasting soups and maindishes. This book is well worth the money for anyone spared for time and needing a solution to the fastliving/fastfood dependent lifestyle.

Most recipes use ingredients you usually keep stocked. Cooking times vary from an hour to 10 hours so can use ones based on the time you can put them on and the time you need them done. Got this copy for my daughter because I enjoy the one I already have so much.

Great cookbook. I've already purchased an additional copy to give as a gift. I like the simplicity and the fact that most of the ingriedents are things you typically have on hand. A great cookbook for anyone who doesn't have a lot of time for extra prep work in the mornings. The book that I gave away was spiral bound, defintley the way to go!!
