My husband and I bought the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough DVD players for our grandchildren Olivia (5) and Xander (3) for Christmas this last year.

We bought them for purely selfish reasons. After having to watch, "Thomas The Train", and "Hannah Montana", at Thanksgiving instead of football. We, Pepaw and Memaw, decided something had to be done.

I saw a commercial for the Fisher-Price DVD players and knew that was the answer to our prayers. And it WAS!!! They are amazing! We bought them for Christmas for the children. We also bought Hannah Montana and Thomas The Train DVD's. I would STRONGLY suggest you also buy the set, for each child, that includes the earphones, earphone splitter, (It will allow two children to watch the same player at the same time without bugging mom and dad in the car or at home), and a car adapter to allow them to watch what they want in the car. They also come with TV adapters you can connect so children can watch any DVD they want on any TV.

We got the pink for our granddaughter and the blue for our grandson. They come with wall adapters to watch DVD's all the time, and they also charge the batteries in the players that allow you to watch the players two hours at a time unplugged. What could be better than that?

Really, They're amazing. Our grandchildren LOVE them.

This is the third one I have purchased. Concept is great....durability is not. This item is not kid tough. Fisher price keeps reimbursing me to buy a new one. This is the only reason why I am still giving it a change. Maybe the third time will be a charm...doubt it. My daughter really has not dropped it or mistreated it at all. Somehow the screen has cracked twice. I plan to reserve this one only for trips and really monitor my daughter with it. Good Luck if you choose to purchase one. I wish someone would revise the concept and invent one that really is kid tough.

I purchased the Fisher Price Kid-Tough 3.2 inch potable DVD player with screen for my grand-daughters 3rd birthday. I was very impress with the clarity of the screen. The size of this item if perfect for little hands to carry, but the volume button is always getting stuck.

I bought this portable dvd player because my children get very cranky when we have to go to long trips in the car, which we take very often. I like the fact that it does not break easily. I did not like this product very much because on several occasions i tried to play some movies and it was very difficult to start the movie every time i pressed start the movie just did not start and i would end up on the dvd menu again. The batterie also does not last very long so i had to purchase a car charger. I bought a regular dvd player a couple of years ago and it was so much better except that it broke because it was not kid tough.

Color, Stability...Small and tough enough to go anywhere. Can play both new and recorded dvd's. Screen shows most wear, but not enough to both a 6 year old. Options of pink and blue are great.

I brought this player last month,and my son loves it. It was a portable dvd player and it is kid tough and blue. This item was sold out in a lot of places, so I brought a used one.

I bought this unit for my mother (82), who is legally blind. It was purchased to use with "books on CD" from the local library. The size and contrast of the control buttons makes is relatively easy to operate if your vision is poor. The unit works as planned and was relatively easy for mom to figure out the controls. Audio quality using the built in speakers is good enough for books on cd, but probably not good enough for music listening. There is a headphone jack that would improve audio quality. The batteries last long enough to play one CD, and charge in about 3 hours. It is used primarily with the 120V adapter, so battery life not that big an issue.
I would buy again for the same purpose.

This is our second Kid-Tough DVD player. The first was sent back to Fisher Price for a refund after it would no longer play DVD's. For the price, I received the value that I expected. Let's face it, NO ITEM in the world will ever be able to withstand the abuse of a toddler. It did last longer than I expected. For the joy, happiness, fun, entertainment, and " quiet mommy time" we received, it was worth the cost. That is why we've bought a second. It's all about expectations and hopefully, yours will work. Ours worked great for almost a year before stopping and with the abuse it took, I was surprised it lasted that long.

I LOVE THE FISHER PRICE DVD PLAYER....ONCE AGAIN FISHER PRICE HAS OUTDONE THEMSELVES... WHEN I SAW THE AD, I THOUGHT THIS COULD BE NICE...I LOVE IT MORE THAN I COULD HAVE DREAMED I WOULD HAVE... I HAVE 3 GRANDBABIES, AND 3 PLAYERS....THEY ALL LOVE THE PLAYERS. ITS VERY INTERTAINING TO THEM, AND I LOVE HOW THEY ARE KID TUFF....IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT ONE, THINK NO MORE, I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

I love that it is tough enough for little kids to use. It does have a few drawbacks. Kids can still touch the inside pieces and my kids have had issues with two out of 4 that I have bought. One players play button stopped working and Fisher-Price replaced it. The other stopped spinning the disc and I took it back to the store. The other two have been fine.

This DVD player is extremely sensitive. Definitely not "kid tough". We bought it to use on the plane trip for my 2 year old. It would skip around or freeze for no reason at all. Sometimes it would work and then after a half hour or so it would just restart the dvd. It was so frustrating for my daughter and ended up being more of a hassle than entertainment for her on the trip. She didn't even drop it or handle it roughly. Don't waste your money. Unfortunately, I could not return this, but it didn't work from the very beginning. Also it is big and awkward for a small child to hold onto and it is very heavy.

I gave my four grand daughters each one of these dvd players for Christmas and they and their parents say it was the best gift they got. They travel alot and it really entertains them while they are in the car. They also love having their own private dvd player at home so they can watch whatever movie they want when they want. I am very pleased with this product. Also when they say tough they are tough. They have been dropped and nothing happens to them. They are great for kids.

I love that its portable and you are able to plug it into a tv. I also like that you can throw this dvd player around and not have to worry about messing up the dvds.

I bought the Fisher Price portable DVD player for my three year old grandson for Christmas. The DVD player itself was built well and my grandson loves it. However, it has its own built in battery with a two hour time limit. At first, one might thinks that's plenty. You soon find out that younger children pick it up and put it down alot without turning off the switch. My daughter constantly has to recharge (which takes several hours). A three year old doesn't want to wait several hours for the recharge or have his/her player go dead on the drive home. Would have preferred rechargeable batteries where we could have had extras available at any time.

Overall, it's a nice product but a little expensive.

It is Kid's friendly, therefore easy to use. I would recommend parents to buy for their children. I like the fact that it is built tough for kids to toss around.

This is our second fp dvd player as we got reimbursed from fp to buy another. For the first one we bought an adapter for the car so that we wouldn't have to depend on batteries for long trips, but this connection was too loose. Sent back, fast forward to Christmas 2009, and bought a used one from ebay. Works perfect!! And yeah, my 3 year old has dropped.

This is going to be a Christmas gift for my Grandchild. Hopefully it will be as tough as they say. I bought the blue one, not the pink as pictured.

I am so happy with my kid tough dvd player. It is great because it is small, portable and KIDPROOF!!!!

I like the DVD player but there are a few things that I don't really like about it. After about an hour to an hour and a half it starts to act irraticly. It starts to shut off or skip. The battery life is supposed to be 2 hours. If it is fully charged, it works great for a little bit, though. My 2 year old and 4 year old can shake it around and it doesn't skip. Easy for them to use and easy to carry/hold. Good product, just wish the battery lasted longer.

it's excellent for little childen to watch there dvd on .and in the car on long trip like vacation. I got it bacause it can stand up to test of little kids put it to. I got it for a little girl birthday and one for little boy birthday .because they go on long trip and vacation with there mommy and daddy.And that way the little one have something to do on the trips.I have no dislike about it so far so good I just don't know what more I could say about it beside it fisher price .

This is a replacement product we purchased because our first one broke (Fisher Price refunded us the original cost). It does not work great. It takes a VERY long time to launch each DVD & if the battery has been run down, even if you plug it in, it wont run propertly. It sometimes makes strange noises & we're not sure if its going to break again on us. We have never dropped this product or tossed it down the stairs like they suggest you can & it still has problems. I'd hate to see how it would function if you treated it roughly. My daughter loves having it though when its working. She's just over 2 & has become accustomed to saying "Its not working again mommy."

My three year old daughter loves to watch movies & we go on alot of long trips. I thought this would be great her her because she loves to do things on her own. It really is a great dvd player for kids. She can work everything on her own. The only problem we've had was if the battery is to low it won't play the dvd but it comes up as dvd error so it took us a while to figure out the only problem was the battery was low. We also got the travel kit which was a good addition. The battery only last about 2 hours so onn really long trip it comes in handy.

I LIKE THE FACT THAT THE DVD PLAYER IS TOUGH AND WILL BE HARD TO BREAK. THE GRAND DAUGHTER LOVES. THE COLORING OF THE ITEM IS LIKE A MAGNET TO CHILDREN. I DO BELIEVE THAT ITEMS LIKE THIS ARE OVER PRICED BECAUSE OF THEIR POPULARITY. BUYING ON E-BAY IS EASY AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

The dvd player is great, my son is 18 months and loves it. The screen is small but he does not mind at all. It is super portable and great to grab for the car.

I have to say the battery situation is a bit disappointing. When fully charged it lasts 2 hours and then must be plugged into recharge for 6 hours. I had assumed I could use my own batteries to supplement the power source. The battery in the dvd player is internal and must be charged via the wall.

Overall, I am very happy with the product and highly recommend it!
