First Family by David Baldacci (2009, Hardcover)

I love Balducci's writing. Sometimes I think he should take a year off and not grind out the novels...but then I realize his are much more genuine because he provides characters which - like Kellerman's Alex Delaware, are well-drawn characters steeped in detail, so much so you know them by the first two chapters - I say that only because Grisham doesn't have a continuing character in his writing, I think the challenge is making a character interesting, fleshing it out..and making the situations ring true. That keeps the thinking person into novels like these. You can't just grind out books like Grisham sometimes does with half-drawn caricatures subbing for your main character. But B4 you read this, read Simple Genius because it lays the groundwork f0or the relationship between the 2 protagnists (Sean and Michelle). But you know, there's a kidnapping and Sean is very close (read "very) with the various members of the first Family so its a ransom/hostage situation that requires some following..but you know, I think the title is riding on the popularity of the current First Family as I would have read it anyway, the title just seems kinda out there to me.

I received the book quickly and it was in great shape. My husband is enjoying it now and then will pass it on to other family members - great read!

Baldacci did not disappoint with this novel. He keeps you guessing and adds enough spice to keep you on the edge of your seat. Well written. Would make a good movie.

This Author keeps my nose in an open book.
Extremely hard to put it down.This is one of thr few of his books that I have not read. I am anxious to get started

Love this Author and always buy his latest. The characters are like part of a disfunctial family that you can't wait to find out what they did next.

I have read every David Baldacci book. He keeps the suspense going until the very end, Once you start reading you cant put book down until the end

Another great book by Baldacci, once you start reading it you can't put it down. Baldacci reunites us with our favorite team to solve the mystery.

He said he found it hard to get into but once he did he enjoyed it. He has read sever of David Baldacci books (if not all of them) and he would not rate it as his favorite but worth the read if you enjoy his books.

Great book. The plot kept me reading for hours, wondering what was going to happen next. The author has a way of keeping the reader coming back for more. Also doesn't give too much information at once, always changing the point of view to keep me wondering what will happen next.

A true mystery, while read one had to pay attention as to how one character related to another. The story has high points and sad points, but makes the reader continue to the finish.

I bought this because I like Baldacci books in general. This one was another keeper. It has some of the same characters in a slightly different setting. I enjoyed the action and suspense.

Another great book by Baldacci. It is almost two books in one, since they solve two cases in this book.
He does a very good job at keeping your interest as usual
