Fireproof (DVD, 2009)

I just recently watched Fireproof with my boyfriend. I was a little worried about watching it with him because I just knew it would be some what of a "chick" movie. However, it was much more then that. This movie should be watched by all couple...together. You don't have to be married to get something out of this movie, although the main character are a young married couple who have a strained relationship. They are both going through emotions and thinking about divorce as an option. It is told with a Christian perspective but set as a love story. The movie shows the characters in every day light and the things that they face together are very true to life. They learn how to treat each other and how to grow closer to each other. I cried like a big baby throughout the last 15 min's, however, it was a good cry. I have to mention that some of the acting isn't going to be top notch Hollywood acting. There are a couple characters in the film who maybe sound a little too rehearsed. With that said, the story will help you overlook that and its really worth watching. My boyfriend even liked this movie...I think any couple faces these types of problems at some point so it is nice to see how to get through it and move forward together in love.

At first, I went to the movie theater for an action/horror movie that my husband loves. But since I was totally against watching Saw IV, he let me choose a movie. I had no clue that Fireproof was going to turn out one of the best messages I could see.
Even though some lines were cookie cut, and some scenes looked really high quality and the next looked really low quality, you really do tend to forget when you see the first real fight between the main couple.
Kirk cameron is a great actor and did marvelously. It's a great movie for the christian and good deed kind of people. It may be a little teachy preachy for those atheist out there.
All in all, great movie. Would recommend. Even my husband loved it.

It is a much needed film, for all of us who are married. We found ourselves "in" the movie, and cannot praise it enough for the rekindle is gave to us. We are very thankful to have seen in in the theater, and now are happy to have our own copy.

Wow! This movie is a must no matter where you are at in your marriage. Kirk Cameron gives a wonderful performance as Caleb Holt who is struggling with an addiction and has issues. When he and his wife are about to give up, Caleb talks with his father.
His father challenges him to a 40 Day Love Dare. Half way through Caleb wants to give in, but his father says to push on. During this time Caleb becomes born again and really follows his assignment with a true heart.
It makes you think on how to improve your marriage no matter if it's good or you're about ready to file for divorce.
Have a tissue box near by, you'll need it. After the movie they give you a website to go to to get your own 40 Day Love Dare. Remember: It's the little things to do or say I love you to your spouse.

This is an awesome movie and highly recommended. No matter where you are in a relationship, this movie tells you straight forward, where you should be. I haven't seen a movie this good for a while. All actors are superb in their roles. I'd pay full price to see it again and again!

This movie was the most amazing movie I have seen in a long time. It is a wonderful christian movie if your not a christian you wont have the impact that I felt during the whole movie I cried because it is sad but it is wonderful. This movie just proves God is always with you even when you dont think he is or do believe it he never leaves you for a minute. No matter what stuff you are going through good and bad. I really like Kirk Cameron too and he played his part wonderful it left with such a happiness I cant even explain it.

I thought it was avery good movie. When you watch it with your spouse it encourages you to talk with each ther afterwards. I wish more married couples would take the "Love Dare" instead of giving up.

This was a great Christian Marriage Movie.. Great for everyone. Married or not.
Shows how hard it is to work at a marriage and how easy it is to give up. With God and faith you can make it.

A great christian film, if you like Flywheel and Facing the giants you will love this film. A great film for the married man, a great chick flick! Sets you back into reality about love and respect of your spouse. I saw it in the theater and had to buy it! A+

Great movie about how to save a relationship that's falling apart and how a marriage should really be when you put it all in God's hands. I bought it because Ive heard so much about it in church and through friends so I wanted to see for myself...they were right and its a tear jerker

I've read the book and seen the movie...One of the best movies of all time. Fireproof definitely gives one the desire to give all it takes to make a marriage work. Marriage was designed by God to last a lifetime. Excellent! Worth viewing over and over again.

This is an excellent movie about some possible [probable?] pitfalls in any marriage. It clearly has a Christian message to help approach problems. Strong portrayal of problems, which might make some folks uncomfortable, but it resolves nicely. The movie shows the hard work of overcoming problem habits in interpersonal relationships, but it also shows the value of that hard work.

I saw this Movie in a church one evening that was shown as a special movie for couples having problems with their marriage.
It is an excellent movie for ANY married couple, having problems or not. I purchased this so I could watch it again as needed and to have it to watch it with my son.
He thought it was as good as we did.

The principals of this movie are great. The lenght of the movie is just right. There is a lot of reasons to watch this more than once, too!

This movie was great. It is a must see for any couple...it doesn't matter if your marriage is in great shape or if you need a little work. Defintely watch it with your husband. Some of the acting was kinda "cheesy" but that didn't matter because the subject matter was so good. Pick it up!

Fireproof, where have you been for the last 35 years of my married life?! I owned one of the first dvd's ever shipped. I wanted it to give to my sister whose mariage is about toast. The insight into the breakdown of family and people is incredible. In addition, this is an exciting and fun movie to watch.

This is one of the movies you will identify yourself with. Men this is the kind of movie you should spend time and evaluate if we as doing what God's has called us to do. Women this is what you really need to get a new grip in the relationship and provide the space ans understanding to your husband to get back on track and do the right thing. I will even use it in marriage groups as a good training tool and learning experience.

Although it lacks the "quality" acting and scenes of the so-called great movies of our day, this movie packs a message that everyone should see, especially couples. I never thought that I would be sitting with tears in my eyes, trying to think of ways that I can do more for my wife. I have watched it twice, and I will not tell how many times my wife has seen it, but I will challenge you to watch it at least once. This movie brought in over 6 million dollars the first week in theaters and put a shock into Hollywood! Pretty good work for one film crew with one camera on a 1/2 million dollar budget! Pretty good as well when your main actor gives his money away to charity and "volunteers" as a actor. All I can say is---- when is Sherwood Pictures next movie?!!!!!!

Best movie i have seen in a long time. watch it, it will change the way you lolok at things. and so will the other two movies that they have made. and as a firefighter myself it has given me more courage to talk about and show my faith to others. and i am getting married in may and it has showed me how to be a great husband. please watch this movie.

I love that this movie makes you think. Very nicely done, and it feels like you're being confronted at times, but it gives hope not despair. We have used this at our church along with The Love Dare book.

I would give the movie as a gift, but the book should be suggested not forced on a person or couple. The book is HOW to follow up and improve your marriage after you've seen the movie and gotten stirred up about wanting to do something more or better. Great for seeing the lifetime commitment of marriage and how the little things really count.

I also love the song in the movie, "Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns. Listen to that when you get a chance.

this is a great movie and its worth the time to pick it up. this movie makes you think and about marriage. if i had to recommed a movie this one is worth the time to pick it up and watch with your spouse and family.
