Firefly Firefly (AT&T)

We originally bought this phone for our daughter, who had a horrific vehicle accident and was in a care facility. We liked the security features of being able to restrict the outgoing phone numbers for two reasons. One-it made it a less desirable phone to 'grow legs' and Two-it discouraged others from using it. The three button operation made it very simple for calls to Mom, Husband and the others that were programmed into the phone. Its directory is not hard to program, just requires patience. It has a good selection of ring tones and is very easy to change settings on.
Initially we had only plans to buy one of these phones, but that was 3 years ago. One was lost down the toilet, another had charging/battery problems and I bought one for my Mom. They are easy to use. We bought 2 more phones through this dealer, so I figure we are ready to go for the next 4-5 years. We love the Firefly phone, it filled all of needs.

- Very small and low-tech display but that probably keeps the costs down.
- Cool how it lights up different colors.
- Doesn't hold the charge for a very impressive amount of time. Ok though.
- A pain to program per the very small and insanely low-tech display (like, the lowest level graphics possible on an LED display) but not impossible. (My *calculator* has a more high tech display.) You'll need to dedicate some time to setting it up.
- You can block what calls can come in, which is good.
- The kid doesn't just push the mommy button they have to push the green button too.

My son LOVES the Firefly. He is 7 and is able to use the phone without difficulty. It does take some time to set up, but well worth it!

I definately like the firefly. My son, 6, loves the thing. It's very kid friendly (which is what it should be.) and very easy for my son to understand on how to use it. I bought this thing because my son was always out riding his bike with his younger brother and never knew where they were, if they were ok. He calls often and I know exactly where they are at all times. Would highly recommend for any child or maybe even an elderly person.

This phone has not been made for about 2 years, I had to buy a new sim for $10 so that my son could use it! Not a bad phone for a dollar but thats all didn't even get the free min. because the sim was no good and was told they could not give me the min because the phone was discontinued 2 years ago!!!

impressed with the function, it is used for communication regarding my kids safety to know where they are and what they are doing.

The first day my son had this phone, he needed it. He is in the 3rd grade and his school let out early, but his bus ran into traffic and was more than 45 minutes late dropping him off. His mother was getting a bit frantic and called me concerned and I said "Well, why don't you call him?" - hadn't even occurred to her. So she did and he filled her in and everyone was happy. The phone is easy to use, and even my 5 year old will occasionally borrow it in the mornings when I am on the way to work to call me. There is no real concern about him having it at school as the only numbers he can call are the ones we put in, and no one but us will be calling him, and only in an emergency.

My son has been bugging me about getting a phone but I don't need him getting caught up with all the stuff on a phone that comes standard nowadays; games, texting, etc. Enter the Firefly. It has an address book, emergency, Mom & Dad buttons and it's designed for only one thing... Making a phone call. No need to worry about additional features and costs to your plan. It's easy to use and the kids can make a call to you even if they don't remember your number. two buttons and they have you on the phone.

Nice little phone, I don't know why AT&T decided to stop selling them.

Great phone for small children. Buttons for mom and dad are great, also the accessible emergency call function.

Great product. My grandson has had one for 2 years and loves it. So I bought 2 more for up & coming grandchildren. Easy to program, use and maintain.

My daughter is six years old, and has started to have playdates with her friends. I like this phone because it gives me the peace of mind knowing that she can contact me or my husband at any time, or vice versa. She can only call stored phone numbers that we program into the phone, which makes it easy for her and safe for us (no surprise bills!) You purchase a prepaid SIM card so you can regulate the minutes.

This is something really good for school going kids and there is only certain numbers for the kids they can not use this anywhere they want they can call only parents or emergency so that something really nice and the good thing about is very reasonable price

I love the simplicity of the phone and the peace of mind knowing my child can contact me 24/7. However, I would like to have read about what exactly came with this phone and what I should purchase to make it work and keep it from breaking in the first week.

Phone is a blessing for me and my 7 year old daughter. Getting it turned on was alittle difficult. I had to put the sim card into a phone that would recieve text messages to activate it thru ATT. Other than that slight obstacle, everything is as promised. Great first phone.

I got this phone for my son, and it took a while to figure it all out. The keys are tricky to figure out in the beginning. Unfortunately the sound quit working just after a few days. It is a good idea, but it needs improving.

I won this item on March 30. On April 6, I sent in inquiry and was told by jennifer James that she got a new job and this had slipped her mind. She said she would send by next day mail so I would have it in time for Easter. Today is April 13th and I still don't have it. I am sorry to write this - but when I inquired on April 10, I still have not received a response to that email request for status! I can understand one delay but I don't believe this is reasonable.

It is for my daughter she has wanted one and we are trying this! She will be able to call us two! Sounds great...Thanks for having such a Product! :)

it is a very good phone for kids and with parental controls. Shipping was very fast. I would buy from this seller again.

i like it that my kids will enjoy it for xmas and it came fast i will be doing business again when the kids get bigger it is where it looks cute and the kids we==will be proud to walk around with it i was able to get them a cell phone i feel safe with and i love it

thank youb bought the NewPhone last weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

my daughter liked it because it is so small and she finds it so cute and for the price i paid for, it it very much worth it.

It's not the newest or the best but it is simple and makes it safe to use for my little girl. I want her to be able to call me or her mother anytime but not allow anyone else to call her. Works well.

Excellent little phone, bought for my grandson who's 3, easy to use, I feel better when he goes for visits with his Dad now!
