I liked the photos and the descriptive information as well as the variety of illustrations for embellishments. It stimulated me to come up with more ideas on my own.

I do many different types of sewing (heirloom, children's and adult garments, home dec)and found new ideas for all. There were 5 different categories of embellishment techniques and each had a clear explanation of "how to" as well as close up photos of beautiful garments. Certainly there were enough things to try that I will be busy for a while. If I had any critism, It would be to say I wish there had been more photgraphs of more of the ideas presented in their final form. I think anyone who purchased this book would not be disappointed.

This book had a lot of great examples. Every page is filled with pictures and detailed instructions. Some of the techniques were confusing to say the least, they don't provide a lot of definitions to complicated terms, so I assume this was written for experts. If this is your first time with any kind of "embellishing", I would not recommend this book. Also, the designs are not contemporary, they are very conservative and likely meant for a more mature audience.
