Home is where the heart is...

I've learned that there's no single book or author that can show you the way to find and heal your own heart. It becomes a bit of a smorgasbord, picking and choosing what speaks to you from each work that comes your way, and leaving the rest. Beattie's "Finding Your Way Home" is a feast in and of itself. Remarkable insights into one's own soul and the nature of the Divine, affirming that the path has high and low points, and how to recognize and travel with them, how to accept, heal and empower those parts most wounded and weakened; I've found all this in her book. Along with Louise Hay's "Heart Thoughts," this is a tremendously powerful book for self-healing and connection.
Everybody is unique, and Beattie's path is her own. So there were parts that didn't resonate at all, or that even felt wrong - as well they should. It's HER destination after all, not mine. We're all unique, so don't make the mistake of thinking that one book can contain all you need to help you find your own way. It took me a long time to learn that. And what we need changes over time. But if right now I could only have three books with me on a deserted island, this would be one (along with her book "52 Weeks of Conscious Living" and Louise Hay's "Heart Thoughts"). I highly recommend it.
