Finding Neverland (DVD, 2005, Full Frame)

Anyone who is a kid at heart will love this movie. It pulls on the heart strings without being cloyingly sweet. Freddy Highmore is phenomenal as the young Peter after whom Peter Pan was named. An exceptional story that is skillfully acted and directed. One of my top 5 or 10 movies of all time.

Johnny Depp is always great! I bought it because he was in it. The movie was a plus on top of him. It is excellent for young and old. It was about life, plain and simple and it was beautifully done.

i decided to buy this movie because i absoulutely adore it! i watched it in high school and just fell in love with it. i actually didnt just buy it for me, i bought it for my son too. he will love it too, when he is old enough o understand it. definately buy this movie and you'll love it too!!!

The movie arrived promptly, but some form of padding or packging would have been nice. It was in a tiny envelope and the case was cracked upon arrival and will not shut. The disc was unharmed though

This is a well done movie. Johnny Depp is great, but I bought the movie because Freddie Highmore is in it. This is one good young actor. I have seen him in two other movies and he is good!

The story of the author at the time he wrote the play "Peter Pan", and apparently, a fictionalized version of the family (mother and small boys) who inspired it, according to the product description. The acting throughout tends toward the family/young child genre, rather than family in general (Elizabeth Taylor's "National Velvet", with its more realistic acting, and also mention of female striving (mother as well as daughter) and other verities, comes to mind as slightly more polished material). "Finding Neverland"is however quite lovely, a candy-box version of (both happy and sad) events the viewer might be persuaded are true (where indeed does truth end and fiction begin?), and is indeed beautifully photographed as to camera angles and especially evocative as to the settings and costumes of the time.

It's a brilliant movie. It combines all that makes us human, all the emotions and components of our lives and gathers up using the most beautiful imagination to create one of the best movies out there. It's a tear jerking movie that will leave you wanting more. It's worth every penny.

Enjoyable movie but a little slow and lacking in suspense. Definately a chick flick. I'll watch it again soon. Anything with Johnny Depp is a plus+ in my book.

As I said before,I like most of Depp's films...except for the dark ones. He's good in those also, but the dark part I'm not fond of. "Finding Neverland" was so excellent and touching. I loved the children, especially the boy who would play Peter Pan in their back-yard play. Kate Winslet is also wonderful in everything she does, and I love having her films, as well as Johnny's on hand. I never get tired of seeing them. This one is an A++++++! Ferreespaisley

I have been looking for this movie for several months now. It is an older movie so I thought I would have not problem locating it at a reasonable price. I am new to E-Bay and this movie was one of the first items I looked for. It was easy to find and reasonably priced.

This movie is the story of J. M. Barrie (Johnny Depp), the author of "Peter Pan," who was inspired by a widow lady (Kate Winslett)in the park with her three sons. His relationship with the lady leads to problems with her mother (Julie Christie in a nice role for her) and his wife, who eventually gets so disgusted that she leaves him. The story unravels quickly when the lady seems ill. You can compare it to "Dark Victory" or "Camille" in the end. But how this all ties in with the play, "Peter Pan," I will leave to your own discovery.

Johnny Depp plays the part magnificently. This is one of the first normal roles for him that I have seen. He is becoming one of my favorite actors. He doesn't have to be weird to be great!

For this movie, Johnny Depp achieved a Best Actor Oscar nomination. The movie also was nominated for 7 total Oscars, and won one for Best Original Music Score.

It will be a little sad for small children, but the special effects are very enjoyable.

I have never been one for so-called "chick flicks", but being a fan of Johnny Depp, I thought I'd watch a few minutes of the movie one night, and ended up wanting to own it. The characters were excellant in their roles, without the movie ending up being sappy. Being based on a true story made it all the more interesting to me, being that I never knew what the true story of "Peter Pan" was, and finding out how it was conceived was fascinating!! I would definitely recommend it as an addition to anyone's dvd collection.

This movie was not really one of my favorites,I found myself walking away several times not holding my interest, I love Johnny Depp, this was the reason for purchase.
