Are you surprised that Square Enix made another godly title? Well, I am not.
In depth review of the game:
Gameplay: 9.8
Square Enix introduces to us a new system of gambits, license board, full camera control, and real time turn based combat. Boss fights are so fun, not to mention that the A.I. is pretty damn good if you have your gambit set up correctly. Oh for me personally, big fights last for about 5-10 minutes and during that time, you have to think quickly and act quickly. Unbelievable gameplay overall.
Graphics: 10
Final Fantasy XII is a game that has the best graphics I have seen for this system to date. That is no exaggeration. PSX 2 has reach its limitation with this title and we can only expect more from Square Enix. I wonder how FF X III will look like on Ps3? I cant wait. There is no load time, no slow down, and CGI movies are unbelievably awesome. Oh yea, after playing the game, I have to watch watch FF 7 Advent Child again just to bring back memories :)
Sound: 9.8
Just like every other Final Fantasy game, the music fits the game very well. ALthough for me personally, I still think Final Fantasy 7 has the best musical soundtrack. I would still put it up there in ranking with all the other final fantasy soundtrack though.
Concept: 10/10
Woaw, the real time combat blew me away. I though final fantasy 10 turn based real time combat was good, but this one is totally out of the box. Square Enix threw out the turn based static real time turnbase combat to a more real time, being able to move around, time based turned combat. To simplify what i said earlier, you literally could equip a gun, shoot, run around and wait till the charger is full again and then shoot again and never ever take a single damage!
One word, awe inspiring.
Overall: 9.8/10
A classic game that ever RPG gamer should get. Its a no brainer to pick up. If you love RPG game with a great story, awesome graphics, wonderful soundtrack, and a revolutionary combat system, this is the game to pick up. THis is probably the last great game for the ps2. We can only hope for better games that come out for the ps3. Can you image FF XIII in dual layer blue ray disc ?( 50 gig storage). Well, i cant, and I am pretty sure i will spend many hours again playing that game as I already did with Final Fantasy XII
