I bought this game recently for my PSP. I am a pretty big fan of the FF games and love RPG. I was so excited that the PSP system finally had a FF made for it! I was alittle disappointed with the graphics. I thought they would be more on the PS lines. These graphics were more like the Game Boy graphics. However,the character classes and game concept are the same classic FF.

I'm sure at some point you've seen or played the original Final Fantasy. After 20 years Square decided to RE-RE-RE-RE-Release their cult classic series beginner, Final Fantasy.
This game has been out of several systems and now it has made its way to the PSP. The graphics are tweaked a little bit, from the most recent release on the GBA, and the cut-scenes are there from the PSX version as well. This is basically a hybrid between the Playstation version and the GBA version.
In the PSP version there is an auto-run feature used in towns and dungeons, a language selection, the inclusion of the special dungeons from the GBA version, the ability to save anywhere, (HUGE PLUS) and a better audio sound to it. The treasure collector screen has been taken out which was in the PSX and GBA versions, The Bestiary Log is still intact.
This game is very addictive and I found it hard to put down even though I have completed all the other versions multiple times. This game is just one of those games that you can just come back to and still enjoy it. I'm sure this will be the last release of this gem, and it is definitly my favorite version even if it is on a lacking but not exactly appreciated PSP system. Show some love for the PSP and Final Fantasy and pick this game up.

If you like the Final Fantasy series, then you need to see where it all began! Final Fantasy for PSP offers a challenging job-based gameplay system rarely copied in today's games with all new enhanced CG Cinematic cutscenes! Even though this game is as old as it is, it is still incredibly challenging. And because it is for PSP, you can play and enjoy this classic title anywhere!

Sure the graphics are not anything special, but I think the amount of playing time you get in the game makes up for it. To me this is what the psp is all about. I can't wait to get the next one.

Awesome, the updated quasi-highdef graphics are the bomb! It's almost 3D-ish when walking around the world. The music has been all tweaked up as well. I loved it again!

A great remake of the classic that started it all. whether its your first time or a beloved retelling the updates graphics and added cinamatics bring new life to this great story! high fantasy at its best!

I can remember sitting in front of the NES system and playing the original game for hours. This was great!!!! There are some complaints about the graphics, they stayed with the original graphics only cleaned up a lot. It is a big step up from the 8-bit graphics of the NES version. There is now shades of light and mist. This is the original game revisited with a bunch of new caves and quests. Game play is the exact same as the first release and so are the dungeons. I played this on both the GameBoy Advance and the PSP. The PSP version is the best hands down.

Far less frustrating than the original (you don't have to buy a potion 99 different times), though now its insanely easy (magic points instead of the old NES version & all kinds of additional healing items). This can be beat without effort for any of those who have played the original. Bonus dungeons rather annoying as you have to exit to return again to fight another "boss" & fight the same stupid weak things over and over and over and over....; not to mention not really worth it. The encounter rate is ridiculously high...let's also add that when you max out your characters everything runs away...now I'm just wasting my time playing to finish the bonus dungeons to get the best gear....meh not worth my time. Expect to beat this game in less than a week or 2. My final thought - if you want a challenge, don't waste the $20 or so buying this game and use it towards purchasing the original NES version or find a ROM.

Awesome game! exactly what i wanted!I have liked final fantasy since this game came out on NES, I just wanted to play it again. It was close to the original, but better. There was no problem with remembering where everything was, and there were surprises of new caves. awesome game as always...

final fantasy is a great game and the fact that the psp didn't change the graphics (except the cinematics of course) made it even better. this is the classic final fantasy that i remember playing when i was a kid. it is still one of my favorite games.
