The Final Countdown (DVD, 2004, Limited Edition, Collectible 3-D Cover)

I've always loved Scifi and Military films. The Final Countdown caught my eye when I was serving in Germany. I still have the VHS and wanted to add a dvd to my collection.
The movie is a little ruff by todays standards. You can see clearly what is real footage and what is not. I enjoyed the story and this movie always gives you the "what if" feeling.
If you have never seen The Final Countdown, you will enjoy the little twist at the end.

What if? That's the question this movie might have answered if the movie has gone through with its intention of engaging the enemy. Of course this is just wishful thinking! We also would like to think about the outcome of history as we knew it today if this engagement did materialize. This movie left too many unanswered questions in the minds of the viewers.

The outcome of the battle that day will be one-sided with so much firepower on the side of the USS Nimitz but eventually, mother nature has a way to make sure mankind does not tamper with what was already done. If you like fantasy, this one's for you!

What a great movie!! The concept of a nuclear aircraft carrier caught in an electromagnetic storm and being transported back in time to the eve of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Imagine if that one carrier decided to intervene and use its massive firepower against the Japanese attack aircraft. 60 F-14's against 300+ Zeros. With the threat of changing the course of history, the crew of the carrier must make the decision to stop the Japanese. Will they do it? Buy the movie and find out. It's fantastic, you won't be disappointed.

A friend recommended it to me so I got it to watch. I was NOT disappointed! I was intrigued at the beginning, wondering who was in the car, watching Martin Sheen's character leave on the helicopter to go to the Nimitz. All the characters were well played. The Jolly Rogers flying scenes were so exciting, I was glued to my seat! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole movie and would recommend it to anyone who likes mystery and action. Great movie!

This is one of my husband's favorite films so the DVD became one of his Hanukkah present. Has a great cover, too.

I never received the movie , the seller never contacted me it was one way there way, i will never buy anything from them again, please remove them from e bay terriable to do business with!

Love this movie. Characters are well written and the twists are not only surprising but fun. Good 'what if' sci-fi movie. Great actors in it too, the real 'movie stars'.
