This twisted movie about a man with multiple personalities is incredibly well written. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton do an incredible job portraying a soap salesman whos plot is unveiled throughout the film to create not only a fight club society but to reak havoc on society as well. Can Edward Norton reign in his evil side before its too late?

Highly recommend this film for those who love action and movies with a twist!

Epic depiction of gen-x and our lack of living! Great!

I think that most people miss the point on this movie. Yes, it is a great action film with great fight scenes. Yes, Brad Pitt is a really good bad guy. Yes, The music is great. Yes, the apocalyptic regime known as "Project Mayhem" is led by an anarchistic genius.

The point of this movie is that we as a society have grown so accustomed to being a part of the big picture that we forget to be individuals. Yeah, yeah; I am too analytical; whatever!

"Generation X" followed the "ME Generation" and was followed by the "Why Generation". I am a member of Gen-X and I know that Gen-X was and is lost in mediocrity. This film will ring true always because of one simple fact; most people are sheep. Even the people who join the fight clubs and "Project Mayhem" are following someone else's lead. Don't you see it. Don't you understand the glaring, screaming point of this film - that most of us are just cogs in a big machine; but we can break away.

I love this movie. I love the action. I love the dialogue, the acting, the direction, the editing, the music... But what I really love is the underlying truth that is layered throughout the film and brought to the surface without any pomp and circumstance. We are all desperate for something more, something to be a part of, something that will make us feel (pain, hate, love, anger, rage, emotions of every scale).

This is a great film in every way, and Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham-Carter deserved, at the very least Oscar nods, but the film was too controversial, to gratuitously violent and destructive. The supporting cast, including a then unknown Jared Leto, Meatloaf (yeah, the singer) who shines, and several other familiar faces, was phenomenal. As a hollywood blockbuster, this film had it all.

But, more importantly it had something deeper. You can disagree with me if you are not the "artsy-fartsy" type (like me), but the truth remains the same, this film had a point, made the point and took no prisoners along the way.

So, live a little, and watch this movie. Then go out and make something of yourself. Even if you don't get to beat the crap out of someone for fun.

  Great Cast, Great Movie

Aside from the twist, that I didn’t think needed to happen, this movie is awesome. I can’t imagine that there’s anyone who hasn’t seen this movie; but if you haven’t, then I’d highly recommend it. The cast is great, it’s an original storyline, there’s plenty of violence for the guys and a very ripped Brad Pitt for the ladies. What more could you ask for?

This is probably my favorite movie of all time. It is a great movie. Many critics seemed to hate on it because its use and portrayal of violence. But this is not just some testosterone packed garbage movie like Crank for example. Underneath it all there is a message, there is a moral, and there is a meaning behind everything. Furthermore, it is undoubtedly a comedy; it matches up and brings to life some aspest of dark hummor. Undoutedly it was considered overly violent as it was released closely after the shooting at Columbine, and also considered largely a movie for men. But it is so much more than that, if the viewer can look past the "senseless" violence and really watch the movie, he or she will see how much it has to offer.

  Probably my favorite movie ever!

What do I like about this movie?

The cast is amazing - every role is filled by an actor that fits it like a glove - Norton, Pitt, support cast - all great!
The story is solid - as you've already read, there is an unexpected (yet very awesome) twist at the end. You're also not left confused, which can be a big problem in movies of this nature - the movie does a great job of recapping and leaving the viewer in awe.
Even the soundtrack is good!

What didn't I like?

Honestly, I only feel the movie could be improved if they had made it a little bit longer and added a few more complex events (if you know what the twist is, you should know what I mean). I feel it would help to drive the point home, and make the viewer even more intrigued.

Keep in mind:

The language, violence, and sexual content of this movie are why it is rated R, not the best for young'ins. Not the best date movie in the world either. Awesome movie to watch with a group of buddies - don't try it at home. ;)

*I have published the same review under multiple items due to the similar nature of the products-in this case the movie content between various DVD versions.

A little jarring, very funny, surprising. Amazing performances from all parties, even Mr. Loaf. A raw, brutal, honest, and fantastic examination of consumer culture and the nature of the modern American man. There should be more pictures this good.

  Best, Most Disturbing Movie!
Review created: 09/08/09
by:

I first saw this movie about 5 years ago at a friend's place and spent the whole time wishing everyone would just shut up and watch the movie! I finally have my own copy and was just as entertained as the firs time I saw it. It's incredibly disturbing in the 'this is so possible' sense! I can see this kind of behavior in so many aspects of our day to day life. This is a movie I will keep and watch over and over again! 5* recommendation.

  Don't talk about FIGHT CLUB
Review created: 08/02/09(updated 08/13/09)
by:

I'm going to break the first rule of FIGHT CLUB and talk about FIGHT CLUB. Imagine a movie that's actually ABOUT something, not bare-knuckle boxing or soap making (although both play vital roles), but something more than entertainment or dramatic action or comedy. FIGHT CLUB is all that -- and more. At the center of FIGHT CLUB lurk provocative questions. But the film trusts its audience enough NOT to provide glib answers. And anyway, the questions are much more interesting than their answers. Does your life have meaning? Are you happy? How do you define obedience? Or love? Or identity?

Directed by David Fincher and starring Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter, FIGHT CLUB is based on the eponymous 1996 novel by Chuck Palahniuk. The novel is the source of profundity upon which the film has improved. In other words, the novel enriches the dynamic of the film's conflict: characters torn between the conventional social order and anti-consumer nihilism. The story challenges our understanding of materialism, capitalism, property and civilization itself. This is NO SMALL THING -- a Hollywood film that actually matters. No wonder the studio balked at releasing this little gem. When bottom-line execs got a look at Fincher's masterpiece, they panicked. What to do with a film that provokes thought and challenges perceptions? FIGHT CLUB was originally marketed as a guy film, aimed at teenage males aged somewhere between doofus and dude. Despite this, the film still managed to connect with its target audience: thinking people. Watch it and see if you don't agree. The first rule of FIGHT CLUB turns out to be: you cannot help but talk about FIGHT CLUB.

Note: The Special Edition Digipack has all the bells and whistles, from production notes and deleted scenes, to commentaries and internet ads. Fun for fans and dudes alike.

Wonderful and edgy performance with Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and HBC. All three together put on an outstanding performance that has a secret twist to the plot. It is a must watch with the commentary from all of the actors as they give away funny details about the making of the movie. Guarantee once you watch it and discover the twist, you will immediately have to watch it again!!

I'm not here to tell you how good the movie is. Since you already know that this is David Fincher's classic.

This is 2 DVDs, digipack which is super duper well designed. All pages in the menu, DVD package are all beautiful as if Mr.Fincher designed by himself.

For the fans, I believe you should never miss this.

First of all, this movie is one of the most profound, philosophical, and intelligent movie of this generation. And yet, it's also visually stimulating and full of action!

I'd just like to warn everyone that the people who gave it a poor rating were NOT rating the movie, they were rating the seller who sold the movie to them, take a look for yourself.

REMEMBER PEOPLE, WHEN YOU RATE A PRODUCT, IT IS THE PRODUCT ITSELF YOU ARE RATING, NOT THE PERSON WHO SOLD IT TO YOU!!! IF YOU WANT TO RATE THE SELLER, THAT IS WHAT FEEDBACK IS FOR!!!
